The main appeal for using the barrel liner on gatlings for me isn't the RoF increase, but the +5% accuracy buff. Assuming I'm being lazy and hold down my trigger instead of bursting, the bloom becomes uncomfortably large and my damage output becomes limited by how many shots I actually land on my target. Given that I'm already stacking MRS and AI targeting for better accuracy, I threw on the barrel liner for the extra buff as well.

The shop is back, though the timer is stuck at 23:59. Will it actually refresh tomorrow, I wonder... Edit: apparently not. -

I have a theory. Recall several weeks ago on a Friday, the MM basically died right as War Games (forgot which one) became available. This was immediately after a patch had "fixed" the map previews in the HQ screen, and resulted in an emergency maintenance to disable War Games. I'm willing to bet the HQ screen is fucking up again, since the map previews have been extremely unstable for the past weeks and kept breaking/"fixing" itself. -

Some quick math incoming. Assuming 440 coins for 1 part is the worst it will get, 100 parts (full vehicle) will take 44000 coins at most if you buy all the parts from the shop, though you will likely have to camp the shop every day for the parts. It costs 300 coins to manually reroll the shop offers. Assuming you miss a few days or want to get the Kurganets faster, add 300 to the total cost for each manual reroll. For simplicity's sake let's say you reroll 100 times for 30000 coins, bringing the maximum total up to 74000 coins. You can get 30 parts for free from the easy elite missions, so that's 13200 coins saved and brings the total down to 60800 coins. 60800 coins for the Kurganets is actually incredibly cheap compared to the cost of grinding up the ranks. Remember, sometimes the offers are better and you can get more than 1 part at discounted prices. Coupled by the fact that you don't NEED to reroll the shop 100 times, the actual cost for the Kurganets may be less than 40000 coins. Seriously, get the Kurganets first before spending your coins for the ranks. It is objectively the best valued reward out of everything in this BP. -

I guess the shop offers were too good. -
Armored Warfare player statistics API
Haswell replied to nullptrdereference's topic in Game Mods & Add-ons
Is it possible to get the .json data from the browser directly? I remember there's a link you can use to access the API similar to the old forum signatures. It would be very nice if the forum signatures can be recreated, even if it's a bit useless. -

Crackpot theory time... The reward vehicles you get from the ranks are intentionally made mediocre this time, in order to entice people to spend their coins in the shop. Because the shop offers have time limits before going away, when people see something really good they may be tempted to spend gold (and money) to buy coins for the shop offers. It's a clever monetization strategy, I'll give them that. -

ZTQ is one of the possible offers. And yeah, do NOT spend your coins for anything less than a tier 9 or 10 premium. You can get almost every tier 6-8 premium for free from the contract boxes already, don't waste your coins here. -

The challenges and repeatables appear to be exactly the same as the previous BP, only the mission sets got updated. Repeatables (too bloody long, open the spoilers if you really want to see): Challenges: Mission sets: Just some observations and possible tips for making the BP less miserable: Ignore the ranks altogether until the very last day. The reward vehicles (except Kurganets) this time outright suck and aren't really unique in any useful ways. Grind the challenges, repeatables and mission sets for coins. The mission sets in particular are extremely easy this time, the Kurganets parts for the elite missions are practically freebies. Play Plague for damage farming. Play heroics for net XP and missions that require you to find higher tier enemies. Cheese wherever you see fit, only play just enough to complete your mission requirements and move on. All those elite mission that require you to do something 10 times are good examples. Pick up the coin offers in the shop as often as you can, apparently you can get steep discounts like these Kurganets is the only reward vehicle that seems remotely interesting to me this time. -

https://aw.my.games/en/news/general/maintenance-december-10-0 The catch with the free Type 59 is that it's already horribly powercreeped and woefully underpowered since getting uptiered to tier 4. I'm sure new players will feel so excited about their brand new premium being crapped on by basically everything.

FPS dropping when AI are appaearing
Haswell replied to Terminator83's topic in Core Skills & Mechanics Discussion
Sounds normal, all the particle effects from stuff hitting you tend to tank your framerates. I get horrid frame drops too when lots of bots spawn and get spotted at once, I'm assuming that's due to the big spike in rendering and processing , since my framerate increases once the bots are culled. The only remedy I can think of is to remove the bots as fast as possible to keep their numbers low. -

Ideas for low-tier vehicles
Haswell replied to Alkaline_Stingray's topic in General Metagame Discussion
During the early days of the game, the tier spread was actually only 1-8 with 9-10 reserved for competitive play only. That is, tier 8 would be the highest tier for everyday play and power levels would only have to stretch across 8 tiers. Some time later when 9-10 got normalized for general play the power levels had to be stretched to accommodate this, that's the reason why there are so many filler vehicles right now. It wouldn't be a bad idea now to cut down on the number of tiers, raising the power levels of the lower tiers to make them more competitive. Hell, just balance tiers 1-2 separately so that the actual game progression starts at tier 3 (while making sure tiers 1-2 never face tier 3 enemies). Leopard C2 MEXAS would indeed be way too good at tier 3, that's why I thought it would fit better as an upgrade 1A5 at tier 5. Also bear in mind that the increasing power level should also apply to other vehicles as well, so other tiers 3-4 vehicles would effectively have power levels of tiers 4 and 5 respectively. Leopard 1 being a tier 3 with its power level stretching into tier 4 sounds like a reasonable progression. Although at some point I do wonder if it would be easier to just make a new vehicle for each tier, which is what the game has right now. It feels boring and less engaging though. -
The domain of aw.my.games and the brand My.games is owned by My.com. It's honestly a clusterfuck that require a visual aid for me to understand who owns what at this point, but I'm just going by the fine print at the bottom of the page and the registration info of the site. SS likely has no idea this happened, don't blame him or burn him on a stake for this. This is a very classic example of lack of communication between two departments (marketing and community) within the same company. While I have good faith this did not happen intentionally (I hope), I still feel this crosses the line and deserve a slap on the wrist to prevent future occurrence. As I said, if nothing wrong has been done, nothing will happen.

Plague Special Operation: Feedback Collection
Haswell replied to Haswell's topic in General Metagame Discussion
Everything not in the tunnel already explodes as soon as someone reaches the bottom to complete the "get out of here" objective, regardless of how much time is left on the timer. The sliding down part takes less than 10 seconds, so you really don't have a full minute. If playing with poor internet (and loading in late) can be considered selfish, does having low frame rates or high ping also fall under the selfish category? For whatever it's worth, I play with bare minimum settings and I only get 30-40fps if the map permits. I also play with 250-300ms ping with constant packet loss because I'm physically too far away from the server. Should I be disqualified from playing the game altogether because my reaction time is mechanically limited, and I will never perform as well as someone with equal skill and better hardware? It's a slippery slope to say late loaders shouldn't be playing while also accepting (or tolerating) others with similar mechanical handicaps. Instead of punishing players who load in late, measures should be taken so that they can still play the match and contribute after loading in. Delay the countdown timer until all players have loaded in for example, or not having death and failure mechanics that cannot be countered individually. There's a reason why the player spawn points on most missions are safely tucked away in corners that bots won't ever reach. -

A very long, but very detailed article from PanzerSofa. Quite a good read if anyone wishes to gain some insight into one part of the dev process. So what's in *your* reward crate?
Haswell replied to Quantum_Ranger's topic in Core Skills & Mechanics Discussion
Assuming you desperately need the gold, sure. Otherwise the chance of getting whole premium vehicles including rarities like the K1A1 and Type 90 (I got both of them from the boxes) far outweighs the paltry gold drops. Selling vehicles here isn't about getting credits, it's about maximizing your chances of getting something better than 500 gold.
