Let's play a game. A game where we try to find which PvE maps we hate the most and eliminate them.

Rules are simple: with every post in this thread, you must provide
ONE +1 vote

Life Jacket           - 10-3=7  I just don't like it? IDK really, I'm not having too much fun on it... Maybe because my only memory of the breadbox AMX is while I was playing it there?

The couple LTs on the other side can be a challenging fight sometimes. lots of stuff to shot, enough space overall. Only downside is when someone trigger the last cap spawns early, it can become really hard then with surprise T-15s on your butt (I swear last time that happened to me it was you Haswell in your K-153)

Desert Path          - 10-3=7 To me, it's a combination of every bad thing in PvE : Tiny corridor map, stupid objectives (insta losing if the ennemy cap the second cap that's tucked nicely into a corner making its defence kinda hard if your team is morons) surprise off map arty if you fail second objective, a Lt that's essentially a pillbox, a  stupid respawn point (ok, considering the map, GL finding a good one that's not too far). All in all, the worst map for me.

If you die after the first objective, it sucks to get back and kill something, if you die on the last one, dont even respawn, it takes so long to get                                                     back. The sencondaries are really out of the way of the main, and nobody wants to use time to get them

The downsite is that its a 1 heavy map after you clear then first few tanks

What was the other map beside Tiger Claw that doesn't exist anymore? It was a starter map in the "jungle" where you went straight and then to a left where there was 1-2 check points, and that was it...

Prometheus         - 7-3=4 There's nothing really wrong with this map, it's just that the respawn points need to be revised so players don't have to spend forever getting back into the battle. Perhaps have the respawn points for the second and third stages change to the location you needed to defend for the previous stage?

Zero Hour             - 10+1=11 I'm not entirely sure what it is about this map, but I really like it. It might have something to do with the mix of open and urban terrain allowing all types of vehicles to play to their strengths, and the fact that the map is almost entirely free of artificial borders that restrict players from performing flanking maneuvers and putting themselves in positions to provide long-range fire support.

Desert Path          - 7-3=4 I'm agreeing with Grenier on this one, particularly with respect to the narrow corridors (the bridge is absolutely awful) and the second cap that is simultaneously covered from the players' approach angles and exposed to the bots approach angles. You need to be in an MBT to play this map, and I suspect that the exposed nature of the second cap will make this map even worse if the autocannon penetration buffs go live.

Prometheus         - 4+1=5 I'll give a vote of support for Prometheus, seeing how it's fairly friendly towards both squishies and non-squish. Respawns all the way at the beginning of the map and absolutely garbage secondary placements aside, the double caps is a fairly unique mechanic that forces you into either clearing the bots fast enough to autocomplete or deal with the far cap for some extra time. It's a fairly good design that I don't find on any other map so far.

Spearhead           - 10-3=7 There's nothing terribly bad about the layout of the map, but the flood of bots that sit inside the cap makes it boring and annoying to slug it out. Killing all the bots on the map also isn't a winning condition for some reason, so you are forced sit inside the cap yourself and do nothing for a good minute on what is inherently a fast map to clear out.

Desert Fox            - 7-3=4 Easily the second worst of the new desert maps, mostly because the entire map is a confined space that favours MBTs at the expense of everything else

Desert Strike        - 10+1=11 Haswell mentioned unique mission objectives, so I feel that I should at least recognise the one new desert map that isn't just attack/defend ad nauseum (even if it is still mostly attack/defend). This doesn't mean that I won't downvote the shit out of this map later tho

Leviathan              - 10 -3 = 7 You literally can't lose unless the entire team dies, and the objectives are strung out all over the Erebos/Prometheus island randomly so that MBTs sometimes literally can't get back and forth between them fast enough.  End-game respawn location is in a trapped location, too, if your team hasn't been doing enough killing.  All of this is mostly mitigated by the fact that it's the best-earning map in PvE for both credits and XP, but that's not enough to avoid getting dinged.  It's a terrible map that you sometimes suffer through for the great rewards.

Tsunami               - 10 -3 = 7 I can't believe this map hasn't been dinged yet.  Sometimes you spawn already in LOS and range of bots and they shoot you before you can do anything, and you're attacked from 3 sides right at the start.  The best tactic on this map is to retreat immediately (into the 2 bots that spawn behind you), and then hope that your team isn't full of YOLO idiots.

Desert Path          - (-2)  (dead) honestly, the only thing I don't like about this map is the insane blind rush across the bridge with no alternative.  You either perform that rush, probably losing at least one teammate in the process, or you lose.  For me the rest of the map is fine, despite being a small and tight corridor.  The bots come to you, so if 2/5 on your team have brain cells you can easily set up kill zones.

Dire Wolf               - 10-3=7 Also a map that is prone to send you back to garage very early. There is no threat of early spawns, but a very easy loss if you do not load in fast enough to deal with bots rushing the first objective (and your pubbies fuck off somewhere because reasons).

Tsunami               - 7-3=4 The map is generally okay (and a great candidate for speedrunning), but the beginning spawn that threatens anybody who loads in late or otherwise not familiar with the map is a major downside.

Banshee               - 10+1=11 Pretty straightforward map, not many surprises there, squichies can still work even if its not ideal. It's also probably one the the shortest mission. I managed to complete it with randoms in barely 5 minutes, allowing me to play it a second time as it was still on rotation. Kinda funny.

Only way to stop bot spawnkilling effectively is for a sturdy vehicle to go lodge itself between the small hill and the building that is on the right of the road we spawn on. Have fun being sniped by the 2 bots camping near the warehouse then...

Ghost Hunter       - 7-3 = 4 cap 2 requires randumbs to both attack it quickly, and then once capped not get distracted by irrelevant bots which can prevent you from getting to cap 3 in time.  Awful map to risk playing solo.  It's fine - and actually fun - with a platoon.

Desert Viper         - 10 - 3 = 7 IIRC this is the one where you have to fight your way onto and then off of the carrier, and getting onto the carrier can be difficult with randumbs clogging the ramps up.  Not a good design, even for what's basically a corridor style map.

You can also destroy every building on the airstrip in advance before the objective pops to skip straight to the ending.

Harbinger              - 10 + 1 = 11  --  Harbinger is underrated, I think, and a lot of people hate it.  But I think that's because most MBT players don't know how to play it and so get frustrated by the snipers providing fire support from the ridge.  Cap 1 has an excellent defensive hull-down position for MBTs, but you have to push into it quickly.  Most MBT players are far too timid and get themselves killed because of their timidity.

Raiding Party       - 7 - 3 = 4  --  This could be a good map, but it needs about 60 more seconds at minimum.  Probably 90 to be safe.  As it stands it is far too easy to run out of time with a platoon of randumbs, and there are numerous bot spawns that appear in areas that you've already cleared which then attack you from behind.  I really hate that in a mission because it completely breaks immersion to have a bot attack you from an area that should be secure.

Ricochet               - 7 - 3 = 4 -- Ricoshit is just bad all-around.  It's too small, too short, and the secondaries require you to drive past the final cap, faff about for a couple of minutes, and hope that your idiot teammates don't cap - or kill all remaining bots - while you're getting them.  The earlier, larger version was much better because you had options.

This map is like a BackToGarage% speedrun if your team either doesn't have an MBT or the MBT player(s) fail to load in quickly and/or decide to ignore the first objective.

Raiding Party       - 4-3=1 yeah CQC hell with a stupid AI spawn that ruins a run to the last cap, the best I've found if the primary objective mine spawns on the opposite hill at the top right side of the map, you can render snipe it from the gate to the last cap.

Ricochet               -1-3=-2 gonna kill this off they ruined this map basically taking out the middle road access to the port funnels you into a kill zone, there is only one direction of attack into the port straight into the lieutenants.

Albatross             - 10-3=7 Really not a fan of this one... certain combination of objectives just make thing too hard for the average joe. And the double cap on an airstrip with the pathetic VR we have in the game is just ridiculous.

Zero Hour             - 11+1=12 One of the few maps with enough space for Brosat or MGM. There is plenty of space to play around, it's a nice map, even if it's stupid hard to carry in a Brosat (heh did it once).

Life Jacket           - 7+1=8 Surprisingly I don't mind Life Jacket too much despite being a boring all-defense map. It's decent for both squish and non-squish vehicles to perform well in and cap 2 allow lots of infantry damage farming. Having only one respawn point all the way back at the beginning of the map is annoying though, but I guess it promotes not dying.
