  1. Also the K153-C driver could have done much more in a different position, he could spot at least as much as the AS21, as is not true that with the right retros is impossible to spot from the hill, but mainly using at his advantage the targeting mechanics of his tank, as long as he is able to lock a suitable target, so not Termi, Ramka, PL or Merkava, but the T15 and many MBTs as well as bradley and K21 are suitable targets, he can continue to fire at it as long as the MBTs continue to spot it. This is very useful for the tanks in the town as from the right position you have a line of sight to shot at them, or to lock them in this case, but often they then move in places where normal tanks can not fire at them from the hill. Surely is not a tank with a 30k dmg potential, but he could probably have done better. Luckily the AS21 made alone what 3 support tanks are supposed to do...
  2. Yep, Chally was not shy at all, but it seems that he knows pretty well how to use the very strong armor, as even an ADTU is far rom being invulnerable as long as the bots manage to flank him. And here what you and the AS21 did becomes important, you, even if was in a hulldown position, was shooting at bots that could see you, so was making some bots fire at you instead of him, that is exactly what the less armored of the MBTs has to do, and being the only MBT in a party with something that can be easily penned I would remain probably in that position until the support fire from the hill has softened enough the bots as to do what the ADTU has done alone and with a tank with huge weak spots is a suicide. Also what the AS21 did is very important, he had sight retros and was the only one of the not MBTs in the right place, where he could fire at the spotted tanks, at the ones coming from the NE corner when they will spawn, but also spotting himself the ones coming from the river, as some of those drive towards the town, but others join the battle and can easily flank both a tank where the Chally is and also where you are. From that position he can shot at them or at least warn the MBTs if some of them is heading towards them. As long that it is not a MBT is very important what a support fire tank does on the hill, as he has this spotting role and also has to make choices, like if to shot at the tanks you are spotting, making your life easier, take down fast the ones that come from NE or kill the ones on the river, as later for you to find a couple of T15, as often happens, in the town or not can make a lot of difference when you have to cap it. From that position, or also going a little more south, he has also a quite good line of fire on the cap and on the bots in the SO part of the town, so can help you when you are fighting to cap. While in the position where the arty and the K-135C are they can not spot and have a much limited line of fire. The support fire tanks in that mission are not leeches, are very important, when a tank like that AS21, but a GAU or Wilk can work as well, spot and take down 40K of the enemy HP the life of the MBTs becomes so much easier. He erased from the battle ground 18 bots, so 18 guns stopping to fire at you. The fact that both you and the ADTU got so few kills is a clue, he was shooting in the most useful way, killing the low health tanks to reduce as fast as possible the amount of fire on the MBTs. You played with 2 good players and the mission was carried by your 3 tanks.
  3. Don't be sad, is not so bad. In Random Battle and Glops is good as you have those strong missiles, is just that in PvE is a little like the Bradley with KEM rockets, if you have got it in the last Battle Path, you have to wait a long time to reload as the animation time is added to the reload one, but as I told the missiles are good, if you shot for full damage you can do well also with the long reload time.
  4. I had a MBT player taking the south road 2 Harbinger missions ago, he was completely not useful to the party and in the end ranked very low, I was in a MGM so I could not go myself to spot, but an AS21 and a light tank did it, instead of the yolo MBT. At the end they ranked 1rs and 2nd, I was 3rd as had few spots and spotting damage, and the last who was? The yolo MBT... Last time I played that mission I was in a MBT, went north, in a T10 leo, and a T9 merkava helped me. I was killed once, but in the end I got 19K spotting damage that with the damage I did on my own granted me the blue star. I really don't think that for an MBT to take the south road is worth it, it is not useful for the team and also not very rewarding for the player that does it, I have never seen someone do it and rank well in the results.
  5. Mephisto that possibly will disappoint you Not a bad tank, don't get me wrong, it has good missiles and a decent camo, but the way it has to do all the animation before and after it reloads retracting in the hull the missile launcher makes the reloads so long...
  6. activating 2 boosts is probably better, if gold is an issue (for me it is so), to use for the not free slot a lesser boost, as you spend less gold, but Premium Time + 1 Platinum Boost + 1 Gold or lesser Boost + Insignas gives anyway an huge total multiplier if also are played all the highest tier tanks only for the battle that has a first victory multiplier. A Platinum Boost has an activation price of 100 gold, a Gold B. cost 50 and a Silver one only 25, the Gold Drill Master Boost gives anyway 50% more commander xp. But one of the reasons why I had never had to buy gold, even if I used it to buy the Marder and to pay my battle path tokens is that I never use it for the premium slots or to buy the daily or weekly missions. Even without logging in every single day, so not always I get my free 10 gold/week I now have enough gold to buy me the access to the next battle path and probably after it I will have enough of it to buy me a T40, without spending any RL money for it.
  7. If I would have a .player dropping smoke in front of me like that I would probably open a ticket against him with the match recording and screenshots. The game rules forbid to use tactics that prevent a player to play normally and if is true that as long as the player that drops the smoke spots the enemy continue to spot it also the other one sees it but doing so it at least annoying and prevents the player behind the not wanted smoke screen to spot other enemies, as maybe he can have a better spotting range. To track the enemy or if possible to designate it are much more fair ways and if I am not wrong the damage done to enemies spotted by others is less rewarded then the one to enemies that you see, if so you don't only annoy that person, but you actually "steal" some of his damage as he is less rewarded while you get spotting damage from his shots. You can "steal kills" as no enemy tank is private propriety of a player, but you can not prevent the player to play, placing your tank in his line of fire, dropping smoke in front of him (if not to defend him), ramming him away from his position to take it yourself and similar crap ways to play.
  8. But if in your previous example A kills the bot do B get the assist? He is the one that dealt the most damage among the ones that did not got the kill, but did less damage of A, that was the killer. I am not sure if in that case B gets or not the assist.
  9. This is true and is the reason why in that mission when you are the only one surviving at the end, but with low health, it is better to just hide in some place instead of trying to farm a little damage more as you risk to get destroyed so loosing and already won mission. the way at the end you can have many bots with perfect line of fire to the missile and no one of them shooting at it is retarded, but is also true that if all the bots would actually shot at it if there is no tank in their line of fire the mission would have been almost impossible for many teams, becoming something more similar to a Spec Ops Achievement then a regular PvE mission. To exploit that and the fact that the primary objectives are optional to camp on the hill all the time can be done, but is not something I would personally do unless I am using an arty, that from there has a good line of fire on most of the Primary and can find a way also to shot to the bots near the rocket, even if has to play peekaboo to do it.
  10. For the commanders it depends. I often play with commanders that are underleveled jus because I want to grind them, but if you want the better results surely a well developed one is better, the problem is that as soon as you reach the lt rank the commander xp of the mission/battle is completely wasted. Every commander has an unique role and perks, so the better possible commander for a tank depends on the tank, but also on your play style. Ie Sabrina is not the best commander for most of my MBTs, but if i use some MBT with PISH/HESH ammo like the ADTU she is the one as with her module damage boost and that ammo you can start fires and ammo rack like crazy if you know where to aim. About your 2 lt imo Philip is somehow useful in PvE for his faster repairing speed, you recover faster from being tracked, or having the turret ring or gun disabled, there are better commanders, but is a viable choice for well armored tanks, and even better for those that suffer from track and turret ring/gun problems. Freja... I don't know. Someone tells that she is a good arty commander, I have optimized her as MBT/LT commander, but I almost don't use her any more. I suggest to push on the Sabrina grind as she is very versatile, she has camo to be used with squishy spotters, specially if you don't have Erin that is a Premium one, but the module damage is also very useful for every other class, TDs like the T10 wilk perform very well with her and even some MBTs, she is possibly the best not Premium commander imo. If you have Douglas from the last battle path i find him very good with MBTs, more spotting range, hp and improved dpm. Sanna can be developed both for starting easily fires, as I did, and to boost his view range making him a deadly TD commander. I don't have Cortez (assured maximum damage) and Ophelia, so I can not speak about them, but as I see a lot of people using them I assume that they are very good. If you push Sabrina and Erin (if you have her) to lt you are in good shape as Erin and Sabrina can cover your not heavy armored tanks and for those you can choose Sagrina or Philip depending if you want to boost the component damage or your own tank repairing speed. Freja, depending on the skills you have chosen, can be still useful for some tank that benefit from those skills.
  11. Yes on Leviathan a MBT will take some damage, that is sure. A big help, and also an help in many other PvE missions, it to have a sight retrofit, to being able to spot who fires at you is way better then to have more dpm, mobility, repairing speed or whatever in many situations. On most of my MBTs for PvE i have the improved breach and the retro that gives 30m sight also while you are moving, then the 3rd and 4th ones can depend on the particular tank, ie in a tank that has very bad accuracy i can go for an accuracy retro, for others i push mobility, aim time or what I feel matters more for that particular tank. Then crossed the bridge you have to spot for your mates on the hill the tanks at the middle, near that house, but also be aware that others will spawn from the NE corner of the map, and they will fire at you using the spotting of the ones near the house, but also some tanks will come from the river, if on the hill there is not a good spotter that spots them, maybe killing them but al least warning you if you watch at the minimap. So it is all about avoinding to expose yourself too much when you spot, trying to be hulldown and to hide your LFP from the enemies near the house, while being fast to react as you are flanked by the other 2 spawns. The Leo has a very good gun depression, try to use it to gain positions where you can shot and spot having some cover, with the russian tanks that lack of gun depression but have a different armor you probably have to try different ways to cover your weak spots. It is probably wise as soon as the tanks coming from the NE are spotted, or you begin to be shot by them not spotted, to drive some meters behind your previous position so you can orient your tank to be protected against them and not flanked while the terrain protects you against the ones near the house. not spotting any more the latter ones makes also your support fire on the hill focus on those that for you in that moment are the main treat. But the best way to learn how to play a mbt in that mission is to use some recordings where players did well with them and see directly from their point of view what they did. That can teach you much more then what we can tell in a forum post.
  12. Yup very cheesy, but if there are also other humans in the match probably not the way to go, you ruin their game play. To cheese a match when your mate is willing to help you and only bots can suffer from a rigged match is a thing, to cheat in a match where also other real players are in, with your mate that pass to you information on his team if not directly helping you with friendly fire is a completely different thing, I probably would play the match in a fair way hoping to don't find other humans in the next one.
  13. I played this mission few moments ago Cap 1, I did most of the damage and took some damage myself as I was in the only active MBT, as the ADTU was playing behind me, the other players did something. Cap 2, I drive immediately to defend it and the Chally? idle for some minutes at Cap 1, I had time to die and respawn on Cap 2, and I did die not so fast by the way, and he was still there. Ok, np, maybe he had an important telephone call... Then he finally joined us on Cap 2, but instead of joining me to spot and defend it never passed the bridge focusing on farming damage instead of helping me tank. Cap 3 begins, i disengage and drive to reach it while he and the T249 continue to focus on the remaining bots in Cap 2, the T249 die fast and don't respawn, he continues alone. I was lucky that the Anders went to help me and the arty was very good as support fire trough all the game, in 3 we managed to defend the Cap, even if at moments the bots was very close to capture it. And the hero of the match, the ADTU? He manages to be killed by the couple of bots near cap 2 and respawn, immediately driving towards Cap 2 again!!! The Anders died and respawned, I died after some time and could no more spawn, but the arty and him was good so managed to hold the Cap for the remaining time and we won. But I have seen few players less useful of that ADTU driver, that did not what an ADTU is supposed to do in that mission but was also focused only on farming some damage, few as you can see from the result, trough all the mission, to the point of driving to a Cap no more active and more far then the active one after being killed, even if at that moment the mission success was at least uncertain, in the moment that the party needed more his help. I almost never call idiot other people in the chat, i hate toxicity in gaming, but I must confess that this time I made an exception. I also wrote "gg anders and arty" as they did well their part and without them I could not have carried that mission to the victory. So this is both a post to shame and to praise.
  14. "Yes we've seen some people "cheating" in AW (YETI) but I'm still not sure if it was bugusing or effective cheating" The best one was from who discovered the way to climb on the reactor map edge and driving on that invisible wall was able to float in the air and shot at the tanks below with an open line of fire and undetected. Man that was genius, not cheating imho!
  15. Agreed, my previous example in case of high cost of mission due to respawn and consumables would have been no PT: 100-80=20 almost nothing PT: 200-80=120 at least something, and 6 times more. To earn without PT the mission costs should be kept at minimum.
  16. Also premium time gives a big advantage, even more if combined with boosts, event bonus and insigna, the premium time alone is a 100% multiplier, while the event and booster stacked was only 95%, you would have gained more with PT alone in not event times, and using the boost in your free day/week of PT in the event the multiplier would have been very close to 4x instead of the very close 2x you got. if you factor in that the mission costs are fixed, as independent from boosters, but can vary if you don't use any consumable but the free ones or if you do, as oil, energy drink and rebuild kit cost credits as well as respawning the more high are the mission costs and the lower is the credits reward before they are applied the more a high percentage of what you gain is used to cover the mission expenses. If you gain 100 and spend 40 at the end you get 60, while with PT you would have gained 200, spent 40 and end with 160 more in your pocket, so almost 3x even if the multiplier was only 2x. I don't know how many consumables you was using, imo without PT the less the best, even if the Rebuild Kit is always worth to have, even if a little more cautious way to play then usual make possible to use it in fewer missions. I also don't know how well you performed, but as you say that you was often the lowest damage dealer in your platoon I can assume that, compared to the party quality, you was not performing in an outstanding way. Also the mission multiplier, as @Haswell tells, is really important as for credits can go from the lowest multiplier of 11 in Ricochet to the highest that is 22.02 in Leviathan. All those factors summed together can explain why you earned so low compared to some results you see posted, a player that performs very well on a high paying mission while he have also PT active and maybe 1 or 2 boosters and an insigna can gain a lot of credits in a single match, even more if he uses a premium tank. I have very few premium tanks with high tier, but with a good game in a good mission and PT active i can farm up to 0.5M credits, even more if an event bonus is active, much more if i use also boost and insigna. With a progression tank of the same tier and no PT active I can only dream about it, even if possibly i gain some more credits then you, but any way not so much more. This only to add a little more perspective to the raw explanation of the multipliers given in the post above.
  17. I don't own the AFT-10 so I can not tell anything about it, but i love to play GLOPS with my Hellfire for that very reason, i loved it before unlocking the upgrade that let's you fire the missiles so fast, and probably without it was somehow better balanced, I love it even more now that it can erase tanks in no time. In PvE the hellfire on some maps is almost as good as the Griffin, sometimes i watch in game the team result tab, pissed that I lost some missile on low health targets or for bouncing them or having them reach already killed ones, maybe after i had fired 2 salvos. Then I see that i have let's say 10k dmg instead of the 14-16k i could had if all the shot were perfect, but the rest of the party sits on 5-6k, assuming that there is no Griffin, T15 or Sphinx driven by a competent tanker. Imo the Griffin -> Hellfire line is one of the best ones as gives you 2 very capable and fun to play tanks, if it does not unlocks a T10 i can forgive it as they are both so good, being good in all the modes, while some other tank is only good in some of them. ie the KEM based T10 can be very strong in GlOPS, but in PvE lacking of mobility and camo can do well only on few maps, and even in them will never shine as can pack up good damage, but is completely missing on the spotting side, while the Hellfire is a good spotter, and does not require to play at long distance to have the best damage and penetration values.
  18. I perfectly understand it, the perspective of who play it in PvE or play it, or against it, in PvP can be completely different. Now probably it easier to play it in PvE, even if now it needs less skill, and I don't think that that is an improvement as PvE anyway needs less skill as mode, when I play the ADTU or when I played the CATTB before the armor nerf, i feel that there is something wrong about it, and i suspect that with the 490, that I don't own, is even worst/better depending if you like challenge or to win easy. In PvP it was a pretty interesting tank, imo the Premium one somehow broken as only very few mbts could damage him frontally, that if well played had his strength, but also his weaknesses, you could not expose your side armor or be flanked and if someone with PISH/PELE or AGTMs knew what to do you had a problem, an Hellfire could take down a 99A2 frontally in no time and an ADTU/Wilk could make it explode very easily. Now it has lost most of the perks that made it unique and probably overall PVP wise is weaker, but as for all the changes I think that only when we will adapt to the changes we will be able to give a fair evaluation, as it is true that is a less capable brawler now, but is also true that if you manage to cover the LFP you now are much better protected vs AGTMs, there is few that an Hellfire at long distance or a T15 at closer range can do against you, while before they could pack 4-8 missiles in your turret weak spot, and this is relevant in PvP as it is in PvE.
  19. I almost agree with @Komitadjie, even if there is some situation where an arty is better then a TD, ie in the 3rd spec op, where WP and the 3-4 HE burst can almost take down the first tank you meet, the one partially on cover behind that house at the left, that a direct fire tank can struggle to pen. Also when there is a cap filled with tanks close together you often can score direct hits on one of them while doing splash damage on 1 or 2 more, and being lucky have 3 or 4 of them in the area of your WP. also when you play at close range behind your MBTs the WP+burst can be really strong if you pop out of cover as the bots are occupied with your MBTs, so don't shot at you, as you can't, but also have not to aim at weak spots. You can soften that annoying hull down bot MBT for your own ones make their life much easier. To shot at moving tanks needs skill and practice, it is possible to predict both the shoot delay and the speed of the tank and shot exactly when he will be, I am still practicing it and I am far from perfect doing it, but I see how with more skill and experience then mine it can become pretty reliable. But overall a TD is better, no doubt about it, I think that the arty did its best in Random battle, when it was an interesting tactical component of the battle, the team that was able to sneak behind the enemy lines to kill it had a great advantage. In PvE only few maps are designed in a way that let the arty do its job and other ones, like Banshee, are a nightmare if you play them with arty, as you have no camo, no armor and no line of fire, while in Phalanx an arty can be pretty useful, even if will anyway rank low as playing arty way will do very little spotting.
  20. Yes, that is the easy way, LAV130, camo Commander, spotting retros and try to focus on the already damaged enemies, i did run out of ammo a couple of times not doing it, and to understand who is the human in the other party. You basically have to steal kills from your own bot allies. With a little luck you get it in few tries, sometimes the first one. Not related rant: why when I don't have the mission to do 2K damage with infantry my boys do almost always huge damage, 6-10K and even one time 17K, but when I have that mission they so often do 1890, 1950 or just a little bit less then the threshold? Should I rise their salary? EDIT: the cheesy way that helps a lot is to be in vocal chat with a friend, to go in queue at the same exact time, but not platooned. Often you find yourselves as opponents and so you have a spy in the opposite party that sees from his minimap where all the enemies are, that can kill the most dangerous of your bots, those that can steal you kills, and that can even soften his bot teammates with friendly fire. This makes the things much more easy, I don't feel that is really needed if a player is at least decent, but if for some reason, like that there is a very good player that for some reason is camping the tier to farm victories and being him better then you makes your surviving, that is one mission requirement, almost impossible, it can be useful, if only to be against your friend and not against the other guy.
  21. And I can not afford T40 to troll the GLOPS Even when you are rich there is always some one richer then you, unless you sit at the very top of the pyramid...
  22. I have, PvE wise, mixed feelings about this tank, some times i do very well with it, other ones... not so much. But it is a problem of the player, the tank is pretty good as you learn how to use it. Its main problems imo are not armor related, if you know how to use its armor is very strong, but with his gun. Fast reload and good sustained damage, but the AP rounds lack of alpha damage, and this makes ammo racking the enemies much less likely then let's say with a Leclerc that has a higher alpha and using HEAT the alpha is good, but only if you aim perfectly, so often i get very little damage even on not well armored tanks like the Bradley or some LT when I have to take opportunity shots and I can not aim perfectly. Once you learn how to deal with that and to use its armor is a pretty good tank. about the "Nerf" i am not so happy of that, but because now i can no more damage the 99A2 bots that are hulldown with missiles while before driving a T15 or a Hellfire I could exploit the turret weak spot. PvP I would say that is a pretty strong tank if the players that you face have no clue about how to deal with it, but very risky if they know what to do. An ADTU with green ammo and many other tanks can easily ammo rack it if it is not perfectly aligned to their line of fire shooting at the front track wheel and it has some other weaknesses that can be exploited.
  23. "I'm also not getting as many insults and hate mail as I had hoped. What should I do to get that sort of attention?" It reminds me something that happened to me a couple of years ago. I was in a German Battalion and was platooning with a German Battalion mate. He used to put the national flag on each of his tanks according to the nation that produces that tank, so if he plays an Abrams he uses the stars and strips banner. That time he was using an Italian tank so had the Italian flag on and some other player started to insult him as Italian, writing some "**** italians" thing in the chat. Now it happens that I am Italian, but playing for a German Battalion i had the German flag on, so that guy actually insulted me believing to insult my German platoon mate (2 OT in a row maybe is too much, if so i apologize, but are both somehow related to what you write).
  24. OT: I really think that the politicians should do in the RL what you are doing in the game, maybe it should be mandatory for every politician to, every few years, live some months starting from nothing, don't using their wealth, big houses and cars, their network of relations with other people that has power and even their educational qualification if they have one and strive to find a generic work, the money to pay the rent and to feed themselves and their relatives and survive to the harsh life. It is too easy when you are too rich to forget how many other human beings that are affected by your choices and decision as politician live, as well as it easy to forget how long and painful is to grind trough this game, further more if you don't spend real money in it, when you sit on a huge amount of credits, to the point that having so much of them is not useful at all, having a stockpile of premium time tokens, boosters, insigna and many high level premium tanks in the garage, as well as most of the progression ones already complete. But at least this game gives to anyone that has enough dedication playing it the experience of how it feels to be billionaire, even if not in the real life, as well as it gives to the RL ones multiple ways to grind fast in the game, buying all the progression tanks, gold and unlocking some locked reputation.
