You might be thinking of the VT5 bots, they do spam missiles I noticed but not the VT4. I haven't seen a lot of VT4 bots yet though, so I'm not sure.

Most gun-launched ATGMs tend to have lower alpha than their ballistic shell alternatives, making them not particularly desirable to use if there's no gimmick involved. The VT4 on the other hand, is one of the rare handful of vehicles that offer significant advantages with missile spam over conventional shells. More importantly, it's fun to play because it's so different. Let's take a look: Firepower: pretty damn good (as long as you spam missiles) First things first, 8.6k DPM. This gives the VT4 the third highest DPM out of all the tier 8 MBTs, just shy of the Ariete/Evo at 9k and Merk 3 at 8.7k. On the other hand it also has the second highest alpha at 805 after the 72B3's 850, and also the highest penetration at a whopping 1100mm pen. This gives you very short TTK against most targets even if your DPM isn't the highest, and there are zero targets that you can't penetrate one way or another. The reload time is also extremely short for the amount of alpha you dish out, spam those missiles and keep spamming them until there's nothing left to shoot at. The downsides of relying on missiles only are obvious: deflection shooting at moving targets is very difficult due to the slow flight speed of the missiles, and you are very susceptible to softkill and hardkill APS. The remedy to this is simple: always try to get closer to your targets, particularly those with APS. Get close enough so that you can't possibly miss, this shouldn't be too hard in the current corridor meta. Also note, missiles have pinpoint accuracy when not affected by softkill. Seriously good missiles. Spammable too. Durability: 0.33 Lower plate weak, upper plate strong, turret strong, sides paper. Your typical 0.33 armor scheme, nothing particularly worth mentioning. Okay, I lied. Upper plate is decently resistant against 825 pen AP and 1100 pen HEAT on flat ground, but starts to fail beyond that. It is mostly protected by ERA blocks that can reliably stop missiles, but take care of the corners that aren't covered by ERA. Terrain awareness is important, do not let stuff shoot you from above. Against 825 pen AP Against 1100 pen HEAT Mobility: very agile Overall mobility is pretty much the same as all the other MBTs because 0.33. The only noteworthy aspect is that the VT4 has very fast hull traverse, possibly best in class in tier. Speen to ween Vision control: irrelevant You are MBT, why do you care? Conclusion: fun to meme In the 0.33 era of boring as fuck uniformity, anything that stands apart from the cookie cutter vehicles should raise eyebrows. VT4 is one of the very few vehicles that can be competitive using gun-launched missiles, this makes it a welcoming breath freshness that is even fun to play at times. Do you know how rare it is for me to say something is fun in the game? I'm saying VT4 is fun, that's one of the highest praises I can give. Build recommendations: Commander: whatever MBT commander you fancy. If you are one of those special people with dedicated commanders for ATGM vehicles, they will work nicely as well. Driver: off-road, hull traverse. Why would you use anything else? Gunner: ATGM control, turret traverse. Remember, ATGMs have no aim time and pinpoint accuracy, this make the usual gunnery skills outright useless. Retrofits: rammer/filter/optics. Or whatever setup you prefer for MBT, just don't worry about aim time and accuracy stuff. Consumables: gas/repair/medkit. You are already dead if you get set on fire, and more mobility never hurts.

If he's more diligent at staying on top of the refresh times than I am, all the merrier. Just so everybody knows, my motivation for playing the game has dropped to near zero since 0.33. Slaving away at the game to instantly record the rotations as they refresh every day, at times that change every week, is not a priority for me. I have far better things to do IRL than dealing with the game.

Just an update to DirectX binaries it seems, I don't see anything else being touched from the manifest.

Just noticed there's no option to adjust local offset for the timer. The reason there's an offset function for my tracker is because not everybody's computers are synced up perfectly, so everybody's timers will be a little different than others by default. This lead to big problems when it comes to reading the rotations in real time, since the server timer is synced up (mostly) to all the clients but the local times will all be different. The offset function let people sync the tracker timer up with the server timer. If the site is to become an accessible live feed, users will need to be able to adjust their timer offsets locally. Otherwise it will simply function as a map schedule, which is still a very nice thing.

From a sample of one single heroic run, I can say for certain that the inclusion of wheelie bots actually made the game easier. Less T-15 spam overall because Wilks now took up the spot, and Sphinxes aren't too different than the Bradley spam. Haven't checked low tiers yet, but I expect the Swingfire spam to have lessened considerably. The problem now is IT-1 bots...

I'll just wait for the inevitable bugs that will get fixed next week instead.

https://aw.my.games/en/news/general/development-panzer-87-140 Looks pretty boring, pretty much a 2A5 hull (no armor upgrade) with a single shot 140mm gun. Super softkill isn't nearly useful enough to warrant attention, and Override is flat out a worse version of Top Speed which the 2AX gets. XM1A3 and 99A2-140 exist already, so I don't see what niche the Pz 87-140 fills. Looks cool I guess. Also, will be lootbox.

Insufficient tier 9 unlock tokens for Wolfi vehicles
Haswell replied to Haswell's topic in In-game Bugs & Support
Tokens only work on the same dealer they are from. No, you can't use the extra Zhang tokens to unlock Wolfi vehicles. Someone clearly doesn't play their own game. -
Very nice, although it still requires manual updating. Perhaps it can be developed into a web app for people to use on their own, with the option to switch over to backend data if they are feeling lazy?

PSP Zubr vs Centauro 105 - Any real difference in 0.33-0.34?
Haswell replied to Quantum_Ranger's topic in Tank Destroyers
Cent 105 has vastly higher DPM by virtue of having HEAT, while the PSP only has AP. Cent is has better vision control (camo and view range) and marginally more agility (probably due to food vs no food). PSP with its missile config also has lower DPM than the NM142, but the obvious advantage is that the PSP can fire 4 missiles in quick succession while the NM can only manage 2. Useful if you run into situations where you absolutely want to burst something down. In short, there are very few practical reasons to run the PSP in its gun configuration, and only really fun if you derp out 4 missiles to nuke something quick. -
In Development: Further changes to AI vehicles

Boogaloo https://aw.my.games/en/news/general/maintenance-january-22-0 That's the thing, the BMP series are already extremely viable with dakka spam. There really isn't any need for the ammo capacity increase for most of the vehicles.

https://aw.my.games/en/news/general/maintenance-january-21 Ammo increase for the Rosomak, good. But why are the BMPs lumped into that list as well when they are perfectly fine?
-
https://aw.my.games/en/news/general/development-wheeled-ai This could either go very well or very badly, depending on the bot spawn criteria. T-15 and Termi spawns might be lessened as Wilk and Cent 120 take their spots, but then you'd also have to deal with ADATS and Memephistos. Bradleys might become extremely rare at tiers 9-10 because Crab and Sphinx will occupy the spawns. On the plus side, the Swingfire and Wiesel spam at mid tiers may get replaced by the LAV-600 and ERC.

You get a 30 day rental from completing buttalion contracts, the one you assemble from the parts is permanent.

Here we go again: EoW BP Megathread
Haswell replied to Haswell's topic in General Metagame Discussion
The coupons are for the next BP. Personally I'd say it's not worth it, but you do you. -
Best way to deal with having too many vehicles is to ignore them. In all seriousness, it's not an problem for me since I stopped playing the game religiously and ran out of things to grind that interest me. I evaluate vehicles based on their performance capabilities rather than XP or credit earning potential, and there are still a lot of progression vehicles that perform better than premium ones, both in overall and situationally depending on the vehicle in question. You can say that I play for fun. The fastest and least soul-crushing way to grind credits is to run heroics every week with the x10 multiplier, stacking all the bonuses you want. Even if you don't have a premium tier 9 or 10 for printing credits you should still be getting 20 million or more for a full run, not to mention the XP you may want for grinding whatever tier 9 or 10 you may have. This will largely remove the need to grind credits at lower tiers, freeing you to play or grind whatever you want. There is zero reward for playing something you don't want to, zero downsides to not playing vehicles that you don't enjoy. I have accumulated a sizable fleet of tier 6-8 premium vehicles from the contract boxes and I have not played a single game for most of them, as well as progression vehicles that I have not touched since I ground them out because they aren't good performers. I am not losing out on anything by ignoring them. I use a similar approach, except I don't actually mark anything for reserve or favorite (aside for 3 vehicles that I use for checking map rotations). It's rather pointless for me to mark vehicles since I barely play any of them and it's far too much of a hassle to mark all of them as reserve, and I don't play any of them often enough that require more convenience than simply sorting by tier and class.

The tank is garbage, but now it has a great looking skin. Is it possible to add more geometry to the skin such as more storage boxes and other greebles? Or is modding still restricted to replacing maps and textures?

Let's Talk About The Garage & UI Changes
Haswell replied to Katsumoto's topic in General Metagame Discussion
It would be nice if loading the decal screen don't freeze up my client for a good minute. Having categories is a nice idea, now make it load assets on demand instead of loading hundreds of everything in one go. Camos too.
