  1. I thought you might like a fair chance say what the actual situation, is rather than me jumping to conclusions, or putting words in your mouth. So, just to get this absolutely clear, is this: you two, @Silentstalker & @Komitadjie …..Official representatives of AW/My.com,... are you/are you not saying: "there's no way we can sell Premiums unless they're OP, it's 'pay-to-win' from now on"? ---------------------------------------------------------------- re: glops & i suppose pvp as well. Personally I don't really care if people have pay-to-win vehicles; the problem is, as I'm pretty sure you know, that AW is a zero-sum game. That is: when one guy in a pay-to-win tank wins, another guy in a normal tank MUST LOSE. There is just no way round it. So what does this mean to me? Shall I grind hundreds of hours maybe, to get a fantastic Tier 10 Challenger ADTU, and then what? I don't want to find out that I'll be forced to eat repeated losses, so the Black Eagle/Type 10 owners can have their ... wins at my expense? That doesn't sound like a great gaming experience, sorry. Someone else's paid-for-fun, becomes them paying for me to not have fun.. And also: where does this leave people who bought old-style premiums with real life money: A Challenger Fionn/Wiesel HOT wolf? now (their skinned progression style) Premiums are just Second Class? They paid real money for those. And to a similar, but lesser extent: battle-hardened vehicles.
  2. I thought, a long long time ago, the idea of AW premium vehicles was they wouldn't be OP or anything like that, but they'd just be like a regular progression vehicle, but since it was a Premium, it would shower the owner with Credits. Like the terminator sapphire or whatever. Of course the premium tanks at that time pretty much were all actual progression vehicles, plus a few others. That was one of the things that I thought was a really good idea: you could get an advantage out of a Premium, without anyone screaming "pay to win". Now the situation seems to have changed a bit, am I right? I can see with the newest crop of Premiums, even if they are sometimes also available through the BP, they do tend to be OP. I only have to look at the results screen of an average glops match, to see all the Prems occupying the top positions. I'm not denying those Prems might have very talented players in them, but the best players aren't stupid, and they won't be picking tanks because they are terrible vehicles that you can't win with. And also some of the top players I've seen have a couple of Billion credits, so they aren't in a Prem for the money. Addressing power creep as you are doing now, that's a good thing, you only need to do that, because it becomes a problem... You know you're going to end up in the same situation.... Right? Anyway, enough from me. PS. Oh and this Stalker, its special feature... It's not going to be... "Silent" is it ;->
  3. Thank all the Tanking Gods for that one. With any luck they'll have learned their lesson from last time, and the time before that, and the time before that.... ... oh, who am I kidding, it'll somehow be OP as fuck.
  4. I suppose in glops you could use this if someone has blown smoke and is probably still sitting there. You could try slowly spraying the area, from right to left with machine gun fire, and when your own 'I'm spotted' indicator appears, you could try a shot at that area, with the main gun. Assuming you were waiting for a long reload or something
  5. It seems to me regarding glops, that there's generally about 2-3 mbts per side in a 10 v 10 game and maybe 4 in a 15 v 15. These are quite often either the 'flavour of the month' mbs. Ie the seon gun due to the battle path, or the tanks from a new branch just after it's released: the French for example after they arrived. Ignoring those, the only ones I really see are: premium terminator variants, a few TTBs and that door-wedge thing, Altays, and at T10, almost exclusively tryhard platoons of CATTBs. No one really uses actual mbts, ie progression line mbts for glops. ...Strela, Pindad... Although I won't hold my breath. The simplest way of course, is not to introduce power creep in the first place, especially since they are well aware that some tank's armour is better than another/reload is faster/damage is greater, by being able to just read out which number is the biggest one. Or at least have 2 versions of the OP tank ready, pre-made, when they introduce it: the OP one, to tempt you to get it; and the balanced one that they can switch it with later, when the it's OPness inevitably becomes a problem. I owe you a pint for that one, dunc.
  6. I haven't met anyone here that wouldn't at least try to help you out. wot forumites are, well is: "hate filled, largely racist assholes" too strong?
  7. The new Exclusive Hunter AFV, only available in strictly limited numbers*! *numbers strictly limited to however many we can sell. ;->
  8. This sort of sums up the... ambivalent attitude about arty from pvp etc. from years ago. Everyone wants all the members of their team to contribute, no one wants to have a bunch of vehicles on their side that are essentially useless, and entirely contradictorally no one wants to endlessly be hammered by Death from Above. The arguments were: remove arty because its useless, or if art does something, remove it because it's too effective. Anyway, the debate has moved on, or possibly that the obsessed WoT arty haters have moved on. ... enough of digging up dead controversy. We don't need it. Arty in glops doesn't seem to be OP at the moment, there are vehicles FAR MORE in need of the nerf-hammer. And yes, if arty is to be a support class, it's only logical to give it the tools for the job: more support abilities
  9. The love of dropping large calibre HD round on campers' heads for me, and actually illumination star-shells
  10. I used to really like playing arty. Then they ruined it, by removing hera shells, and more importantly making it actually a bad, direct--fire TD, with a weird sighting system. If it was real, shoot over things arty, I'd be happy to have it back but as it is.... No.
  11. They get a second, and keep the first one too. Total of 2.
  12. I doesnt look like anyone else is going to have a go, so... Just looking at the teams before the match, ie one has a 3-man-platoon and the other had nothing, I'd say: victory red team, since there weren't any significant clan people I recognised. Looking at the teams blues have 13 clan players, red team 10, but they have a platoon... What actually happened
  13. "Herr Strela, do you have something to say in your defense?" "I plead guilty, your honour. I admit it, I am indeed ... I believe the phrase is: 'pay to win as fuck' " "In that case, I have no alternative: You are sentenced to be kicked, unchanged into Tier 9, then dressed in lipstick and a ballerina costume, and thrown over the wall of a Turkish prison. Case dismissed"
  14. Glops, Narrows (South), taking my new VCAC for a spin .... and generally hiding from the scary Tier10s
  15. Ok I'll give it a crack: I agree with everything you said: very similar teams, very similar vehicles, nothing that screams "huge advantage". The blue platoon looks like a pick-up platoon, and performed like it, the red platoon: same batallion, not from a batallion i recognise, so who knows. They might have been ok but were dumped down the scoresheet by better guys at the top. the Ardor guy came top (predictably), glops points similar .... Best guess: I'd say it was very close, but judging from the blue team's few extra kills and a couple of extra glops points: The blues won by about ... 250-300 maybe when the timer ran out?
  16. OK then, if you want to do it and ask him to, I will be interested to see the results, whatever they are. The truth is the truth. All data is good data. If you want to have a go too, if you play pvp, go for it! PS when I did it, I said to myself the first tank had to be meaningfully first, if there were 2 on opposite sides killed within milliseconds that was a draw and didn't count in the stats
  17. It was from when I was playing pvp, I was writing down what happened vs. who got the first kill, and I posted it on the original forum, anyway... maybe it's on the Way Back machine ? .. It was iirc. About 139 pvp games and it was 68.9% of games were won by the same side that got the first kill. Please if you have any more up to date info, or can start noting it down we can get some decent recent stats. I'd love to see if it's still true
  18. OPhelia, die, die, die.

  19. I can't say, because I'd rather stab myself in the eye than play pvp ;->. So I don't have the stats, But I can imagine that if you used the burst ability of it, to take out 2 tanks, in PVP, and then died, that might work. Due to the Lanchester's Laws snowball effect of tank number and therefore firepower advantage in PVP, if you traded yourself dead, for 2x enemy dead early in the game... You might win rather a lot Bearing in mind that in PVP, if your side kills the first tank, your team wins close to 70% of the time... Frightening isn't it. But you are dead right, they wouldn't end up top,... Win rate though... You might get that EDIT: I forgot to say: what I fear is that the Pindad, which is essentially another Strela, is going to start appearing in enormous numbers, as the Battle Path continues, and (especially if anyone has OPhelia ) just ruin everything that hasn't already been ruined by Strelas, in T678 glops.
  20. I think mafia used to be really good back in the stone age. COBET seem to be individually good, but fortunately they don't inevitably come in 3s like the A1arM people. so I think we are seeing that the dam points, & the glops points DO NOT accurately reflect anything. Ie you can score more glops points and still get fewer actual 'Reduce The Enemy's Winning Points' .
  21. i'm probably wrong but it looks like you slaughtered them ... although it's difficult to judge from the glops points, and the exact formula for points vs. actually effective capping. If you didn't slaughter them you should have, they were dead most of the time. You had a mafia guy, 10/10 clan players vs. 8, an extra Type 10 prem, and one from COBET... who mysteriously came second from last, despite 19k dam.... hit some teammates with an airstrike?
  22. shall we add a little data to this ... OP-Level: Ridiculous? HA - we'll see about that! I went through my GLOPS screenshots folder, and noted down any time there was a Strela in the match, and what place they came in, on the final results screen. Place 1-10 ie. first place (top scorer) to last place (bottom scorer), by XP earned. All matches were 10 vs. 10, and i made a chart of the results..... : The observant among you, may think you can see some kind of tendency, or pattern hidden in the results. NOTE: 1. The 2 that came in 10th place, had zero XP, meaning they disconnected or team-killed and got their XP removed, they didn't actually 'come last' 2. Some of those in 2nd place, were beaten into 2nd ... by ANOTHER Strela coming first! 3. Yes, some good drivers were probably in some of those tanks, and I dare say some useless wallet monkeys as well ... the Strela seems to work for them too. 4. Coming top does not neccesarily = winning, sometimes 1st place on both sides was a Strela Conclusion: OP-Level: Ridiculous - OMFG P2W Confirmed!
  23. Damn right! This is what kills glops. She gets it EVERY spawn, and since the dumbass-tactic is rush-die, players basically die as often as possible to get the most perks. -------------------------------------------------- And since the only fun i can have with glops now is bitching about OPhelia here, lets have some fun with it: Introducing: The Great OPhelia-'fix' lottery! Rules: Can you post your best guess as to what AW does to FIX/workaround OPhelia, whoever gets it, or closest to it, wins: You can post more than one, but you have to say which one is your preferred answer. Here's my guess: Tier restriction: all the problems get shoe-horned into a small set of tiers, that are then ruined. .... In case of a tie, Lenticulas keeps the gold for himself.
  24. They'd better do something soon, glops is shit because of this commander-version of syphillis it's soooooooooooooooo fucking tedious. Oh look a platoon, oh look they have Pindads / strelas, guess what commander they have? guess how boring and predictable the game now becomes. Oh look, here's an OPhelia platoon, now.... : Yolo-rush-dead-no-not-dead-then-dead. Repeat ad nauseum. B-O-R-I-N-G Being a pay-to-win cash grab is "Ophelia's raison d'etre" ... the skill is just the method the pay-to-win crowd use to fuck over the rest of us.
  25. Well that's good, thank you SS. At least the people who decide things, seem to have recognised that there is a problem with her, and that there is something on the way, that will hopefully deal with it. I really don't mind people paying for op stuff, or using op tanks, but unfortunately the advantage they get, and extra fun they have, and extra wins they score, comes at the expense of everyone else. In pvp modes. It would be interesting to know the make up of those inter-batallion battles, I bet at least half the players in every match are CATTB + Ophelia. ;->
