    1) Would something like that be fun, such playthroughs?

The idea is great so if I got rather fast waiting times like < ~5min I would have liked the event. I prefer Specops to normal PVE so maybe that's just me. However, there's no point in doing such events often but rather once in a year or so to make it something special and justify the time it requires to actually complete it. That being said it might be a good idea to make the duration a bit longer than just a weekend. Like a week or so.

Of course in order to fill the queue and make people actually play it the rewards need to be better. Otherwise only mad people like me end up doing it.

    2) Or would it be something you'd do just for the rewards?

As I said I like the general idea of doing a full playthrough of all Specops when I got the time for wasting dedicating a whole day  to just play games. It's not something I'd do every weekend but occasionally it's fun. (especially in those damn corona times where you can't do shit anyways)

The rewards need to be better tough as I'm quite sure lots of people don't want to spend so much time while getting less rewards than normally. Quite sure most of the people would do it for the rewards.

    3) If the rewards were the same, would you rather play (current) standard PvE or (current) Spec Ops?

Why not both. I hardly ever play normal PVE so it might motivate me to play some of those missions, as long as I don't have to do the same ones over and over again.

  2. Idea was good but it blatantly showed the main weakness of this game.

Actually it was already an accomplishment if you even managed to get the whole series done solo because the waiting times were horrendous. The "rewards" were basically a joke given that you needed to do twice as much to get a box compared to the usual 4 battles or even only 1 battle in Labyrinth. Would have been way better if there was some prem time or special avatar/camo or whatever.

It doesn't seem like lots of people were tryharding the damage contest like me. Currently there are even only 4 submissions for T6. Understandable because I can't really recommend this waste of time.

It was fun to replay the specops in the intended order but other than that it was not worth it.

Maybe give away a Magnus avatar next time for completion of a run :sealofapproval:

Also aren't these classes of tanks quite hard to balance?

Only hard to balance in PVE and maybe even GLOPS (But that mode is off the table anyways). Hard to balance in PVE bec dpm is king and bots are dumb (generally speaking). In PVP you can balance such tanks quite well (eg. if you show your sides or ass towards it you get shredded otherwise not really).

We'll see how it performs once it's in the game. Maybe CC's can do a review in advance?

  4. Here you can find some setups and corresponding settings for AW and performance:

Usually I don't run into any problems with AW regarding fps but there is some stuff now and then that noticeably dips the fps count.

IIRC they implemented an fps hard cap into the game a while ago.

OK, now that I have ZTQ-15 and Discord, I am toying with heroics but have no clue about what the real prerequisites are to be useful and not a drag.

Generally speaking you can use near anything in heroics. Of course some vehicles won't be suited for some missions and some are just total bs in general (Kia I'm looking at you).

ZTQ should work well enough. It's probably easier to start with an MBT tough as you can just follow someone along without taking much attention to special tasks or positioning. Additionally MBTs are quite the meta vehicles now so they're very easy to play and do mitiligate some mistakes. Mainly it's about the player who playes the vehicle and not the vehicle itself.

Experimental rebuild kits are very helpful but not necessary. It depends on your playstyle. I use them a lot because I don't really play cautiously.

If you want to do a run we're happy to join. Just ask on our Discord.

  6. This makes me think of something...

Why not release the lootboxes for sale from the start and offer the players the missions as currently implemented to get those crates and tell them that you're extra generous with the amount of boxes you can get for free because anniversary etc. Let the "normal" anniversary event have the BVP as main reward with some prem time and insignias or whatever (I mean that's a generous award for doing barely anything at all even I managed to fetch those ).

I think that would have pissed off less players while making them look better in the end. Quite sure loads of players would have still done all the missions to get the crates and maybe be less salty bec there's no need for an empty promise.

You may also want to consider that this covid crap has people a bit more touchy and on edge ,than they normally would be, my city  has been locked down for the last 200 days, people are over it and getting pissed off by stuff, that normally wouldn't worry them, but i'm happy we are keeping you entertained,

I can understand that people are pissed over this but I really don't get why people would expect anything different from them at this point.

    9 hours ago, Travlla said:

Depends on ones interpretation  of "fairly decent chance"

To me the intention of this was obvious. And the term "fairly decent chance" is just another advertising slogan. As you said it depends on ones interpretation. In this case I strongly agree with @knutliott

Maybe I'm a bit more sceptical about such claims because I'm playing this game since quite some time. I know what some their promises are/were worth (AGDS exclusivity for example) so I usually take such stuff with a grain of salt.

Additionally it's not the first time they're giving away free lootcrates to encourage people to buy the rest. Happened a lot when they introduced new vehicles obtainable via lootcrates.

I fully understand people being mad because they thought they would get the tank given the wording (which definitely is misleading as most advertisements are basically). But why would so many people (especially the long term players) expect anything different from the start?

    9 hours ago, Travlla said:

i also understated that pissing off a large percentage of your customers, for a short term cash  grab, is not a smart business plan long term,  and good will goes a hell of a long way to making nice profits,  lets see how this plays out, if peeps can buy parts outright, to complete the tank, that's seem fair to me, but i guess it will be casino crates,

They're doing such stuff since quite a long time now with "promises" and lootcrates. I'm not sure when the first Lootcrates dropped but it was certainly more than two years ago: For reference: https://aw.my.games/en/news/general/last-chance-type-99a2-140-loot-crate (Here they were providing free boxes as well for example. And I can remember that people were equally pissed about that like the situation we're in now)

Obviously people were angry (me too btw) and everyone was like "short term cash grab" and "you'll piss off so many customers". Yet here we are. This happened like every time we got a new lootcrate or any other "new marketing sorcery" (german community for example is always salty as fuck when they do something like this. Even more than what I experience from the english community).

So more than two years later they are still doing "cheap cashgrabs" and it seems to work very well. Because if you repeatedly continue to do something that does not work out as expected over a period of more than two years I'd call you insane. And my.games or whoever is in charge of that certainly isn't.

So given that I expect my.games not to be insane it's a logical conclusion to say that what they are/were doing is working well enough despite all the hate they're getting for it.

And yes. Near 100% certain that it'll be lootcrates to complete the ZTQ

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to defend anything they're doing. I absolutely despise the whole Lootcrate stuff (I made my mistakes as well in this regard). But to me after all these years their intention is obvious hence why I don't get that so many people were expecting to get a basically free ZTQ for near zero effort. I can understand that they are pissed because they didn't get the tank. I would be too, if I wasted my time on this one with the expectation to get the tank with 100% certainity. But the outcome of this should have been obvious from the start (at least to me personally).

After all they need to earn money too and there's nothing wrong with that. In the end the customer decides if the product is worth it or not. If players don't want to spend money they get a fairly decent game free of charge which is quite fair if you think about it (and you can actually play this game without being pressed towards buying premium stuff, unlike some other games).

  8. It's really astonishing to see the amount of pissed people in the Discord wo tought they would get a T9 tank just by playing some matches in half-dead mode. The intention of this was obvious from the start and we all know that My.com would not just throw away T9 tanks for the fun of it. We all know how lootboxes work by now, so in the end everyone has to decide for themselves if it's worth it to play the game everyday or not to get those boxes.

Very entertaining to see such people whining these days because they don't have the slightest clue about how such stuff works.  I'm happy with my BVP and the time I saved by not doing the rest :happyseal:

I'm quite sure that this will work out just fine for them because loads of people will buy the remaining crates (even if they feel fooled now for whatever reason), I mean the lootbox stuff seems to work fine for them in general.

Maybe you could call that a questionable move but this was incredibly obvious from the start of this event...

  9. The Abrams skin looks decent too. I don't like skin animations mostly but it's hard to tell without having them tested yourself during a battle or two. But compared to the last raid this is surely a huge step up, even if some people will be absolutely disgusted by those.

    4 hours ago, Azdule said:

and what effect they have on FPS..

IIRC SS mentioned on Discord that they shouldn't have a noticeable impact on performance. If they do you should get a new processing potato. But  we have to see. It's what I feared the most when I saw the Doom Lelkek :winkseal:

    Commanders!

With the Enigma’s Legacy Battle Path over and the Anniversary Takedown slowly coming to an end, we understand that you might have some concerns regarding having enough to do in Armored Warfare. No worries though because another Raid event is coming in the near future and it’s going to be a big one.

Now, in case you forgot what Raid is, it’s a month-long event available directly in the game, much like a Battle Path. To join the event, you’ll have to complete 10 Contract Missions or, failing that, it will also be possible to buy your way into it with 499 Gold, but we promise it’ll be worth it.

As raiders, you’ll have a certain territory to conquer, starting from the middle. The territory is of rectangular shape with one of the four main prizes located in each corner. And what prizes they are.

    PRIZES

Four unique skins await you during this event, each better than the last.

    scr1

Revenant – an Egyptian-themed skin for the Wilk XC-8 Tier 10 TD. The mysteries of ancient deserts and kingdoms long lost to the sands of time await discovery with the God of Afterlife, Anubis himself, your guide and overlord. Unearth secrets long lost with the Revenant skin and its special abilities. Not only do its wheels show the phases of the Moon, but the hull itself sparks with eldritch energies born from the souls belonging to the jackal-headed divine. On top rests the Skull of Destiny, its eyes glowing with dark fire whenever an unfortunate enemy is spotted. Anubis always hungers for more souls and you are his Reaper. Do not disappoint him, though, or your own will be forfeit.

    hell1

Hellbeast – this infernal skin is available for the Leclerc T4 Tier 10 MBT. Spawned from the depths of hell, this monster clawed its way out into the world of the living. Black iron, slag and cinder barely contain the inferno within, its very skin ablaze with the fury of its kin. Untamed, the beast will leave only flames and dust in its wake, turning the Earth into a twisted, smoldering version of its home.

    Gallery (Click to Open)

    kraken

Kraken – this skin is available for the K2 Black Panther Tier 10 MBT. There are fates even grimmer than the raging depths of hell. The cold dark of the abyss where souls linger for eons, mournfully looking up towards the unseen skies. The wretched denizens of the deep that eke out an existence feeding upon the damned generations of mariners lost to the sea. The still embrace of an eternity in a watery grave. A torment without end. Such terrors are embodied in the Kraken skin, its essence already half-consumed and phasing into the realm of spirits. Do not succumb to its lures, commanders, lest you join the legions of the dead powering this abomination.

    scp001

Archangel – this skin is available for the XM1A3 Tier 10 MBT. Where there’s darkness, there must be light, but some light is terrifying to behold, representing not hope, but unforgiving retribution. Expect no mercy from this angel, for his sole focus is the annihilation of the infernal, his focus is unmoving and his quest eternal. He cares not for the suffering of man but should his goals align with yours, you’ll wield the might of all of creation. For a time, at least.

    raider

Completing all the missions in the event will unlock a special Raider camouflage for all your vehicles as the ultimate prize for the players who want to have it all.

    RULES

To get to them, you have to advance a path to each corner. To advance, you have to complete various randomized missions. You will have a choice between:

    • PvP missions
    • PvE missions
    • General missions

The requirements for each mission will be randomized as well – some may require you to play a certain vehicle class, specific Tiers or even vehicles from a specific dealer. Since the last Raid, we have tuned the difficulty of some of these missions and have removed some of them based on your feedback, so you will hopefully find this Raid easier to progress through and more fun.

There are no timers in this event. You can complete as many missions as you like each day, although it’s worth noting that the missions do not change – to advance along the route you’ve chosen, you have to either complete the mission or choose a different path.

Alternatively, you have two other options that are available for Gold:

    • You can automatically complete a mission using one Raider Ticket
    • You can change the mission to a different one using one Reroll Ticket

These tickets also appear as rewards as you progress through the mission, so you might save one or two for a rainy day.

For each mission completed, the next step along the route will be a Reward Point, where you claim your reward for the mission. There will be many prizes available. These Reward Points are also a part of your path, so you need to choose their position carefully. Either way, you can unlock every single field on the map as long as you complete the missions.

We hope that you will enjoy this event along with the prizes and, as always:

We’ll see you on the battlefield!

Curious what you guys think about it. Entry price sounds reasonable to me and the skins are definitely a big step up compared to the last one.

Maybe going to waste some gold at it to get the Kraken and Hellbeast Skins. Those look very nice.

We'll see. But yikes that's a lot of stuff. Not ideal.

A great compensation for the 0.33 fuckup :trollseal:

Understandable that this is not ideal. Either remove stuff from the players and make them angry or let it be. Loose/Loose situation methinks.

Quite sure these prems are not really the backbone of the sales (Doubt there's anyone who would buy those vehicles volunatrily :snrk:).

    Enjoy

That's just sad. Totally hilarious those "elite" players think you should cap for them, while literally all 4 sit around the cap. But it's N-B-G so I'm not surprised.

Kinda proofs the point of this post. Idiots are everywhere. :snrk:

Anyone try the CATTB in 0.33?  It's available for purchase this week using the #@$# loot crate system... I think it's expensive but was curious if it was still a worthwhile investment.

I mean it works. But there's better alternatives for PVE now. Not worth in my opinion, as long as you're not collecting this stuff. I suggest to wait with such purchases anyways because there most probably will be some more changes regarding balance to certain tanks in the next updates, which could change the situation again.

Quite sure you'll get a second chance to buy it anyways around christmas time.
