  1. TL;DR: different maps have different multipliers. Here's the table for quick reference:

Ever wondered how base XP is calculated and how to maximize your earnings? This is a short guide explaining how it works.

    flXUMrU.png

Base XP is what you see on the team results panel.

You will probably have noticed that you tend to get higher payouts on certain maps compared to others, despite having performed similarly in terms of total damage/kills/other factors. This is because your payout is determined by two major factors: your own performance, and the map's objective multipliers. Base XP is calculated using the following formula:

    base_xp = performance * difficulty_multiplier * objective_bonus_multiplier

The following screenshots will show where these could be found:

    QvgHLpl.jpg

    oVDgJAy.jpg

    blT0AHE.jpg

Following the base XP formula, my base XP of 1033 could be obtained with the following calculation:

    1033 = 222 * 1.3 * 3.58

As mentioned above, different maps have different objective bonuses, you can consult the table at the beginning of this post for all the numbers. The difficulty multiplier is dependent on the game mode, where hardcore PvE and extreme spec ops will always have a multiplier of 1.3 (until they change it again).

The efficiency stat is more of a mystery. The total efficiency can be broken down into combat, damage and spotting efficiency numbers, none of which are clearly explained in the game. I can only assume they are derived from your raw and assist damage, time spent spotting, proximity to enemies and number of kills/assists.

Since the objective bonus multiplier different from map to map, the economic strategy is to never play on maps with low multipliers if you can help it, especially not on your first daily win because of the daily bonus. Utilizing the map tracker program can let you know exactly what maps are in the current rotations, as well as when they will become active. https://armoredlabs.net/index.php?/topic/10-armored-warfare-pve-mission-rotation-tracker/

    Hope all this helps!

  2. Because of issues with the validation email being flagged as spam by a lot of email providers and sometimes not even getting past the automated filters, I've decided to disable email validation for the time being. I'll leave it off until further notice, such as spambot invasions.

All existing accounts pending validation have been manually validated and can now post freely.

    Sorry for the trouble!

Actually, they also changed some internal behavior parameters of the bots, making some of them less aggressive (not rushing the cap), along with a couple more smaller internal changes.

Interesting, I did notice that the spawns and timings of bots felt a bit different in a lot of PvE maps. Nothing big, just subtle differences like an extra TD running down the runway on Snake Bite at the beginning or later trainyard spawns on Banshee.

Glad this is confirmed, my memory not matching up with what I see got me confused for a bit.

No doubt you are already aware of the Stay Home, Stay Safe initiative, as a part of which we are offering some cool vehicles that you can try out:

    • Leclerc T40 TD
    • K21 AFV
    • Leopard 2 Revolution MBT

But would you like a permanent version of these vehicles? If the answer is “yes”, we’ve prepared a special contest for the next few days.

The rules are very simple. From the launch of the contest, play the standard PvE mode on the Hardcore difficulty and try to obtain as much Experience as you can (net XP that is, boosters and other bonuses do not count) while driving one of the three abovementioned vehicles.

Submit your best result in the dedicated contest channel on our Discord. The winner of each category (one per vehicle) will then receive the permanent version of the respective vehicle. In other words, if you submit your Leclerc T40 result and win, you will receive the permanent version of the Leclerc T40 Tank Destroyer.

Make sure that your submission includes the following information along with the screenshot: Your in-game nickname, mode and your result.

    Please note:

    • The contest ends on April 5, 23:59 CET
    • One player can only submit one result per category (so make sure you submit your best one)
    • One player can only win in one category
    • All submitted results must be from the battles that take place during this event (March 27, 13:00 CET to April 5, 23:59 CET)
    • Platoons are not allowed
    • If you own the permanent vehicle already, you will receive its price in Gold instead

    Leviathan beckons.

For anyone who don't already know this, Leviathan has the absolute highest XP multipliers out of all the PvE maps. Base XP (in PvE) is calculated using the following formula:

    base_xp = efficiency_xp * difficulty_xp_multi * objective_xp_multi

Difficulty XP multiplier will always be 1.0 in standard and 1.3 in hardcore, this means all the top results will inevitably be done in hardcore PvE only. With Leviathan having the highest objective XP multiplier (4.47) regardless of how many objectives you complete, this means you should simply focus on playing as best as you can to farm all the damage/kills/spotting/whatever.

If you're not sure whether Leviathan will be in the map rotation on any day, you can use my map tracker program yourself, or alternatively peek into my stream to check what maps are in the rotations. https://armoredlabs.net/index.php?/topic/10-armored-warfare-pve-mission-rotation-tracker/

Have fun getting bored out of your skulls, and dealing with the massive influx of dakka spam. :boredseal:

Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: We made this mission easier for Tier 9 and 10 vehicles by reducing the difficulty of the runway phase where there are two points to defend at the same time

Turns out they simply shortened the defense timer while leaving everything else the same. Not too big of a deal TBH.

  6. Inb4 we start influencing game balance through the forum. :snrk:

I'll be completely honest, I haven't fired a single AP round out of the CATTB yet because of how viable HEAT is in PvE, so the nerf didn't really affect me. God forbid they nerf HEAT next.

Would anyone mind if I move this thread to the MBT section? Since everything here so far has been about the CATTB it might as well be its own vehicle thread.

On the 25th of March 2020, starting from 8:00 CET (midnight PDT), the server will not be available for 5 hours due to the application of Update 0.31.6015

    List of Update 0.31.6015 Changes

    • Fixed several issues that caused the game to crash
    • Fixed a very large number of English localization and text issues based on player feedback
    • Rebalanced the entire Self-Propelled Gun class in order to prepare it for the Global Operations test, specifically by increasing the HE shell flight velocity, improving the aiming speed of the class and by improving its accuracy
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed an issue that cause the mission to become impossible to complete if the EMP guns were destroyed before the appearance of the objective to destroy them
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: We made this mission easier for Tier 9 and 10 vehicles by reducing the difficulty of the runway phase where there are two points to defend at the same time
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed an issue where the game would not correctly switched to the Night Vision mode if a player lost connection and reconnected during that phase
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Changed the time limit for the Divine Wind achievement from 15 to 12 minutes
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed the sounds during the initial and final cutscenes and fixed the issue where, during the first cutscene, players would sometimes see team vehicles’ markers
    • CATTB: 140mm XM140-2 shell with 850mm penetration replaced by the XM140-1 shell with 800mm and slightly lower muzzle velocity
    • Harimau: Fixed an issue where repairing tracks in battle would cause some visual parts of the vehicle (the fuel canisters in the back) to disappear
    • M48 GAU-8: Fixed an issue where fire mode cooldown could appear incorrectly when activated
    • Swingfire: Fixed the ATGM flight trajectory for this vehicle
    • T-15: Improved the visual quality of this vehicle’s model
    • Type 16 MCV: Fixed several gun clipping issues
    • Type 16 MCV: Fixed an issue where the gun firing effect would appear away from the gun itself
    • Type 16 MCV: Fixed an issue where some parts of the vehicle would appear without camouflage
    • New Battle UI: Changed the way ATGM info is displayed near the reticle – upon launch, players will see first the distance of the ATGM in flight and (upon its impact, destruction by APS or targeting disruption), a “Signal Lost” message
    • New Battle UI: Fixed an issue where there was no UI warning about other types of shells than ATGMs, intercepted by enemy hard-kill APS
    • New Battle UI: Added minimap and vehicle status panel opacity settings
    • New Battle UI: Added vehicle status panel size settings
    • New Battle UI: Fixed an issue where the shell icons would disappear from the Battle UI after a respawn
    • New Battle UI: Improved several vehicle status panel silhouettes
    • New Battle UI: Added a hull lock icon for the vehicles with limited turret traverse (Ontos, Bradley AAWS-H and Taifun II) to the vehicle status panel
    • Added new assets for upcoming events and offers

CATTB is going the way of the LOSAT.

  8. Since the turret on the Draco is unmanned, it could pull off a lot of hulldown hilarities despite being a giant bobblehead. Having hardkill APS is a nice extra layer of defense against Bradleys and T-15s.

Example: the MBT spot on Snake Bite (on the ledge between the building and the rock) allows you to hide your hull and only expose your turret, granting you great target opportunities and vision control.

With that being said, starting March 24, 2020, we are rolling out a special set of bonuses along with a gift that you can claim via the MY.GAMES Market.

These bonuses will be active for two weeks and include:

    • 200% Experience income bonus (x3) for the first victory of the day for all modes
    • 100% Commander Experience income bonus for all modes
    • 50% Credit income bonus for all modes

The Stay Safe gift we’ve prepared for you includes:

    • 7 day temporary version of the K21 Tier 8 Premium AFV
    • 7 day temporary version of the Leclerc T40 Tier 9 Premium TD
    • 7 day temporary version of the Leopard Revolution Tier 8 Premium MBT
    • 14 days of Premium Time
    • 5 Platinum Armored Warfare 12-hour boost tokens

The event bonuses are nice, but high tiers will be downright awful for the next 7 days. Stay the hell away from pubbing.

At least I get to grind up 2 commanders with heroic x10s this time.

  10. So... I got this horrible thing. I need some strong convincing before I even want to touch it.

    RutNSLN.jpg

As far as I can tell, it's practically worse than the BWP-2K in every way.

    • Needs 4 shots to match the damage of one from the BWP
    • Only 1530 average damage per magazine, less than half of the BWP (3200)
    • Less mobile until it gets the overprogression engine upgrade
    • VERY HEAVY camo penalty on firing the gun
    • No tandem HEAT missiles

I haven't actually played it yet because of how god awful it looks on paper, does it get any better? And why would I want to play this over the BWP?

  11. Those "bushes" on the hill don't actually provide any camo, they are merely scenery that somehow aren't see-through.

The biggest problem with the hill is that the pillboxes spawning below will instantly spot you if you aren't hiding behind the radar, but if you do that you won't have good sight lines. You are highly dependent on everyone else killing the pillboxes fast so you can go back to shooting.

In the video a premium commander that allows to load more ammo is used. And I think that an achievement that compels to use a premium commander or tank to be obtained is not the right way to go. Some of us can miss those tanks and commanders, I miss that one as I could play only a short time that battle path for some RL issues.

Andrey or Sabrina will work just fine IMO, though not being able to die and respawn for more ammo does make it sound fairly annoying. I'll have to try it with Erin first because I'm a pansy.

  12. Yep, that's what I'm thinking. 6 boxes every weekend, 2 per day.

For those who don't understand the hype yet, spec ops boxes give you rental vehicles. You can redeem the rentals for gold if you already own their permanent version, so this is essentially free gold if you already have a lot of premium vehicles sitting around doing nothing. You also get redeemable coins for the next terrible battle path.

  13. Welcome to our unofficial community forum!

What vehicles do you have in your garage right now, and what do you want to get to? T-15, 2AX, Sphinx, there are many choices and only some of them are terrible.

Type 16 > Harimau line currently ends at the K2 (which isn't released yet). The vehicles are interesting but they aren't necessarily the best in tier. That said, they are also fairly interesting to play because of their quirks, check out the respective vehicle threads to see if they interest you!
