  1. Type 74: here's a Leo 1, now with 100% more anime. It will probably be a tier 4 or tier 5, doesn't look like it can do anything exceptionally well to be tier 6 material. No composite armor either so Swingfires will eat it alive, but maybe the turret will be relatively hardy with ricochet angles against AP?

Please no more skins, unless they come with special abilities like making your enemies bleed from their eyeballs.

And just like that, all of my DPMs for different setups are wrong. I was under the impression the gun only did 590 damage per shot, so the listed DPMs are slightly (about 1.67%) lower than the actual in-game values.

It's 590, you're right. I was just lazy and rounded it up. PvE definitely favors sustained DPM over burst, but hopefully the RR being an underperformer will mean it might get buffed later down the road.

All the math is going to make my head explode. I didn't much like my stats course, and now it's coming back to bite me.

  3. Spreadsheets galore, I like me some hard numbers. :wubseal:

I guess the magazine w/ capacity + cyclic would be the general purpose setup for throwing damage downrange every 10s ish. I can definitely see the single shot gun being useful though in niche roles such as cap resets or other things requiring constant fire. The TTK gap between capacity + cyclic and 2x capacity also closes considerably starting from the 7th shot onwards , so it depends if I really need that 4th shell in my initial burst.

Now that I think about it, are there any situations where I absolutely need to chuck out 4 shots totalling 2k damage (ie. a superior Bradley) as fast as possible, without having another target to shoot at immediately afterwards? Most of the bot bumrushes I've seen so far usually consist of light tanks with 2.5k health, far above the 2k mark but not consequential enough to use the RR setup.

I think I'm definitely thinking too much into the game

Other K2 notes: I'm still stock, so it feels incredibly sluggish compared to everything else bar the ATDU. Lacking some sort of speed boost ability really hurts the K2 in terms of tactical mobility (ie. maneuvering and positioning), I hope the engine and acceleration upgrades will change my feeling on it.

The gun is also extremely derpy for a 120mm. 0.125 dispersion is absolutely horrid for a gun that only deals 600 damage per shot, it is in fact less accurate than most 120mm and 125mm HEAT shells. I realize the design intention of emphasizing its short range burst potential, but its mobility (so far for me) is far too mediocre for rushing into the short ranges where poor accuracy becomes a nonissue.

Protection-wise it's alright, it really reminds me of the 99A2 sitting in between being invulnerable against most squishies and being squish against missiles. Except the 99A2 has far better mobility and a hard hitting HEAT shell to boot. Yeah, I like the 99A2 better than the K2 so far.

  4. The aim time buffs seem to be the biggest benefit for PvE players so far. It's not much different than before, but being able spend less time aiming in make arty a bit more comfortable to play. WP giving a bit of extra DPM is also nice, but still not too useful in terms of spotting stuff because there's really no need for that.

The supposed hard cap for arty in GLOPS don't seem to be working.

  5. I just can't see the K2 as anything other than a Hyundai Altay. I just can't.

Anyone ran the numbers to see which module config give the best DPM or burst yet? I'm leaning towards the single shot gun with both reload modules, but there are convincing arguments for the magazine gun with +1 capacity and +50% burst RoF as well.

Disclaimer: the K2 popped into my garage all of a sudden, I clearly didn't research it through the Chonker or Meme Jeep.

  6. NA/EU finally posted their version of the details.

Recently, some of you who are new to this game might have noticed a very special offer, tailor-made just for you. It’s available directly within the game by pressing a button, located in the upper left corner of your Garage.

This button will bring you to MY.GAMES Market, where a Starter Pack bundle awaits you. This bundle contains progression vehicles of all five classes but, more importantly, also the access to 30 days of daily rewards that include everything a new Armored Warfare commander needs to start his or her mercenary career – Premium Time, Gold, Credits, Reputation, Premium vehicles and much more.

The first day alone contains no fewer than 30 days of Premium Time and 1.500 Gold along with a hefty chunk of Reputation. You can read more about boosting your progress in Armored Warfare in our dedicated article.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity!

Please note that this offer is only available to new accounts (at most, one week old) and contains items that are intended for beginners. Veteran commanders can enjoy our weekly offers instead, which contain items more suitable for high-end experience.

I guess for brand new players the prem time, credits and free XP might be worth it? I'm still not entirely convinced though, since this is essentially a pay-2-save-time bundle that will lose its usefulness fairly quickly.

The other thing that concerns me is the accelerated progression for new players, all the freebies tempt them to skip through the lower tiers and go straight into the high tier meta, without first acquiring the skills and experience required to perform well in high tiers. It's almost as bad as giving everyone tier 8 and tier 9 rentals, day 1 players will get stomped on because they know nothing about how the game works and probably ragequit. This is bad for new player retention, but maybe that's the point since they already forked over their money and they don't matter much anymore.

  7. Everyone still alive?

School and university closures are now extended until next month, which means most students will effectively lose the entire semester and quite possibly miss out on exams, depending on how the contingencies are organized. This is especially hard on university students where lots of them are expected to graduate into medschool and the like, but now nobody knows what will happen yet.

From my friends in other places, they tell me the panic buying seem to be dying down a bit as stores started imposing purchase limits on most essential items like cleaning supplies and groceries. The biggest concern I have right now are that the essential workers (factory workers, delivery folks, storekeepers, etc) are still braving the epidemic to keep everyone else well-supplied, if they fall sick or otherwise can't go to work the shortages might get worse. Kudos to them for holding up the rest of society for as long as they can.

  8. The Palmaria actually has a very good aim time coming from the M109 and a respectably quick reload for a single shot arty. Its greatest advantage lies in its accuracy and excellent gun depression though, these two attributes make it very capable in direct-fire roles where it essentially becomes a big squishy TD.

That being said, single shot arties in their current forms are still flat out inferior to burst fire arties like the PLZ series. You live and die by your alpha damage, and being able to throw out multiple rounds quickly for that burst alpha makes them flat out better than single shot options in most circumstances. If you're just gunning for the Paladin, the PLZ-89 is a far more pleasant grind not to mention a better performer.

On the bright side, Palmaria is objectively better than the Paladin in every practical way. I'd say it's the second or third best single shot arty after the PLZ-05 with the single shot option, and the Cent 155 which has awful gun handling but marginally faster reload.

  9. 500 damage ish feels about on par, seeing the rounds hit the thick turret front instead of the more sensible roof. That 25 damage per tick with WP though... bleh.

What I'm really interested in are the supposed aim time buffs. It's hard to tell from the demo, but I don't see any significant difference from the way things are now.

Someone raised a pretty good question: if WP is supposed to spot target and smoke will hide them, what happens if another arty pops smoke after your WP shell landed? Will the shells get overridden by whatever comes later, or do they follow a hierarchy  system?

On the 2nd of April 2020, starting from 8:00 CEST (1st of April, 11 PM PDT), the server will not be available for 5 hours due to the application of Update 0.31.6025

    List of Update 0.31.6025 Changes

This update is bringing the following major features to the game:

    Commander Kwon Han

This Lodestar GmbH veteran comes with a unique set of abilities suitable for the fast-paced gameplay the new vehicles offer. He can be unlocked from the K2 Black Panther MBT. You can read more about him in our dedicated article

    Artillery in Global Operations

We are rebalancing the Self-Propelled Gun class in order to prepare it for a week-long test of its re-introduction to the Global Operations mode. The rebalance includes the return of Smoke shells, brand-new White Phosphorus shells and other adjustments to SPG characteristics that you can read more about in our dedicated article. The test itself will be announced separately, stay tuned for more details.

    General Changes

The following changes and fixes are also present in this update:

    • Added a new, overhauled player punishment system to all modes of the game (please note that this system can be adjusted over the coming weeks)
    • Fixed several issues that caused the game to crash
    • Added a new variable to the Dossier and Battle Results windows – Performance (which is the percentage of shots that hit and deal damage – including non-penetrating damage dealing shots – from all your shots fired)
    • Respawning in Global Operations or PvE now resets your Consumable cooldowns
    • ASCOD LT-105: This vehicle no longer shows the Level 5 Crew trait amongst its traits
    • Leclerc T40: Fixed the clipping issues of this vehicle’s turret’s rear side
    • Leclerc T40, RST-V Shadow: Changed the flight trajectory of the Javelin missile to match that of the Raybolt ATGM used by K21
    • Leclerc T40, RST-V Shadow: Fixed an issue where the Javelin missiles would sometimes get diverted too much by enemy soft-kill APS interference (also known as the “where the hell did my Javelin go” bug)
    • Special Operations: Fixed an issue where players could obtain the final Special Operations reward could be received several times if you entered the final mission of the series multiple times with multiple vehicles before the first vehicle completed it successfully
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed an issue that could cause the sound of destruction of one of the warships to play indefinitely
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed several collision issues when traversing the tunnel
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed an issue that prevented some sounds from playing correctly when enabling or disabling the night vision mode
    • Spirithaven Special Operation, Chapter 3: Fixed an issue that prevented some warship destruction visual effects from playing correctly or in full
    • Fixed an issue where, when deploying smoke, a vehicle could become spotted when out of the area protected by it, even if it wasn’t located in the enemy line of sight
    • For several (mostly Russian and Chinese) vehicles, we added a fuse designation to the HE shell names
    • Added the flag of Friesland as a decal and banner

Do I really want to grind the AS21 in heroics this week, or keep using a premium vehicle to take advantage of the commander XP and credit bonuses? Hmm...

Now if they would just give actual numbers for the arty changes, that would be great.

  11. Demo

First impression is that the AoE for WP is absolutely tiny, doesn't seem terribly useful for cap denials or burning bots that are somewhat spread out. The damage output is also pitiful, but that's to be expected I suppose.

The fast-ish reload looks nice though, and can be buffed further with crew and commander skills.

During the Spirithaven announcement, we announced that there would be a special event taking place during the season. Today, we’d like to tell you more about it – we call it Raid.

    scr1

The Raid event will last one month. To join the event, you’ll have to complete the fourth Spirithaven Special Operation on the Extreme difficulty or, failing that, it will also be possible to buy your way into it with 499 Gold.

    scr2

Once you have the access to the event, as raiders, you’ll have a certain territory to conquer, starting from the middle. The territory is of rectangular shape and, in each corner, one of four main prizes awaits – a Samurai skin for the following vehicles: SPHINX, T-15 Armata, Al Hussein and Challenger 2.

To get to them, you have to advance a path to each corner. To advance, you have to complete various randomized missions. You will have a choice between:

    • PvP missions
    • PvE missions
    • General missions (that require you to complete other Raid missions)

The requirements for each mission will be randomized as well – some may require you to play a certain vehicle class, specific Tiers or even vehicles from a specific dealer.

    scr4

There are no timers in this event. You can complete as many missions as you like each day, although it’s worth noting that the missions do not change – to advance along the route you’ve chosen, you have to either complete the mission or choose a different path.

Alternatively, you have two other options that are available for Gold:

    • You can automatically complete a mission using one Raider Ticket
    • You can change the mission to a different one using one Reroll Ticket

These tickets also appear as rewards as you progress through the mission, so you might save one or two for a rainy day.

For each mission completed, the next step along the route will be a Reward Point, where you claim your reward for the mission. There will be many prizes available, including Boost tokens, Insignia, Premium Time, even Battle Coins for the Battle Path that is coming in the future.

    scr5

These Reward Points are also a part of your path, so you need to choose their position carefully. Either way, you can unlock every single field on the map as long as you complete the missions.

Completing all Raid missions will unlock the ultimate reward – a Japanese-themed Torii camouflage for all vehicles (its appearance depends on your base paint).

The camo and skins honestly don't interest me, but freebies are always nice.

The missions sound absolutely awful though, from the screenshot they are basically rehashes of the repeatable BP missions, complete with dealer and class restrictions that everyone complained about. If they throw in tier restrictions as well I might just flat out ignore them, couldn't be bothered to play low tiers against my will.

The unlock requirement of finishing SH4 worries me slightly, since it might mean it will be bloody annoying.

  13. Another 50+ infected today to add to the numbers.

HK has enacted health ordinances to mandate restaurants to have no more than 4 seats per table, and tables must be at least 1.5m apart from each other. My gut says it wouldn't help too much, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

  14. Leviathan is in the rotation today... let's see how much this will skew the existing results. I think I'm going to be sick after this event.

So far these are the target numbers to beat.

Yeah, it seems like a bit of a silly contest to me, in part due to the differences between PvE maps but also in part because the rentals that they gave everyone expire on April 1.  So people who already own the vehicles get extra time to try to win the contest.  w8wat?

In any case, all you need is one good Leviathan game. Competition is thick right now however, but at least people have a chance today at topping the charts.

  15. Finished the grind at 20k DPG, could definitely be higher had I not dragged it through SH for x4 bonuses. Knowing when to save up for that 2k damage burst (or less) and when to transition to single shot is crucial in maintaining a high and constant damage output.

The poor mobility definitely got on my nerves at a lot of times. Sure it's fast enough to get to positions in time, but competing against others in racing to such positions showcase makes it feel extremely slow in comparison. I'm definitely not going to outrun Draguns or other squishier things.

Still wish it has a HEAT option.

  16. I do want to ask, how are everyone doing in terms of supplies and groceries? Social media and news tend to exaggerate the out-of-stock and panic buying situations, but I want to hear some firsthand accounts to know what is actually happening for people.

I'm still confused why people were panic buying toilet paper when there are so many other more important things, like disinfectant and cleaning supplies and face masks.

  17. My city (Hong Kong) had the benefit of being aware of the outbreak back in January, the general public had enough sense to immediately ramp up hygiene and mask usage. I don't have data right now, but I reckon our public awareness played a huge role in keeping HK in relatively good shape compared to other countries, despite our total lack of social distancing and border restrictions until recently.

The biggest issue so far has been the Chinese government downplaying the severity of the outbreak and misleading everyone into thinking it's not serious until earlier this month, when the initial epidemic blew into a full blown pandemic due to the lack of travel restrictions. And now we're here.

  18. I think this thread has been way too late in the making. Hope everyone is staying safe and hunkered down at home!

My city just imposed a ban on public gathering. McDonalds are closed, bars are closed, people being asked to stay at home as much as possible. Despite all that we've only partially closed our borders earlier this week, and we're facing a second wave outbreak due to everyone arriving from last minute flights before the border closure.

    2020 is awful.

    :boredseal:

  19. I'll actually argue the Rosomak becomes not too bad once you unlock the PELE rounds, especially now that you can suicide and respawn for more ammo and have infantry to boot.

As with every squishy your performance will be map-dependent, but the Rosomak suffers far more due to not having ATGMs to deal with big targets. The autocannon also inflicts a heavy camo penalty (down to 0!) so firing in bursts is absolutely crucial if you want to stay unspotted.

Best to simply grind through it with spec ops x4s and the occasional daily here and there, I definitely won't want to play it any more than absolutely necessary. The Rosomak M1 is practically the same, but at least it has those sweet autohoming ATGMs.
