  1. OS: Widnows 10 64-bit

    Game Version: 03.06.2020

Brief Description: When you select the machine gun on the MGM-166 then switch back to the primary weapon (missiles) the switch time is as long as the missile reload time for a loaded launcher instead of it being the half second to 1 second delay

Steps to Reproduce: Select the machine gun on the MGM-166, then select back to missiles.

Result: long delay for how long it takes to load a missile on a loaded launcher

Expected Behavior: should cycle seamlessly like all the other tanks

    Fixes/Workarounds: None

    Other Notes:

Why yes there is, if they are even still playing AW there.  By which I mean the Chinese server, thou I don't think it should be counted as some testing ground as they are not playing the same game we are, content wise.

My comment with meant to be sarcastic in nature.  It is something that bothers me about some of the "testing" that goes on, or in this case doesn't.  My friend made the comment that there is going to be something screwed up with the patch when it goes live.  I think even someone mentioned that to SS on Discord that this was a bad idea.

Trying to fix the spotting mechanic in any game is quite a feat if you can accomplish it in the first pass.  Not floating it on a test server to trial it through what all of us would put it through is just bad form and poor work by the QA department.

The PTS wasn't really much help, mostly because it never had anything like the number of users the main server does.  It'll occasionally be used, but for the most part it gave no useful data.

That goes back to the questions about the server population over the years.  They claim it is "healthy".  Really?  If the server population is healthy, then make some sort of incentive for us to go visit the test server so they can sort stuff out instead of pulling their data from a live server.  I'd go over if there was some sort of incentive or actual communication with the dev team during the server test so they can get their data right or an actual feedback loop to make it actually work.

  3. *raises hand to ask a question

Isn't there a place to test this stuff?  Like a "test" server?  You know, somewhere that changes like this patch can be tried out?  I know that the public test server hasn't been updated in a while.

Wait?  Isn't there one that only a specific group of people have of a specific geographic location  or country have access to?  If so how come this stuff wasn't caught until it went to the live server?

  4. In one way this is upsetting to me because I have been wanting the Type 10 since I found out it was going to come out and the Hunter as a dessert.

In another way it is a good thing for me so I can try out a new game I got and I can take a break from AW for about a week to 6 months, or however long it'll take to fix it.....

I'm not having any missile performance issues with it, perhaps because I'm not trying to shoot them at T10 vehicles with advanced soft kill APS.  Do not shoot Armatas with this Termi's missiles... shoot AFVs, LTs, and non-AIDS TDs.

One of the things I'm seeing with it is that even if you shoot at a T-14 or a T-15 from the rear  or side aspect the missile starts to go off course.  I thought that the soft kill system was only protection in the front aspect not 360 degrees on it.

  6. A long time ago, I called it my "Little Box Of Hate" before the server merge and changes to it.

Back then it was in the right hands an artist with the gun and could in certain circumstances out DPM the Ramka's and some of the other autocannon mounted platforms.  The gun had a high pen and high damage shell.  Add in the missile which was okay it could put down some serious damage.  It was also one of the better armored AFV's.

The change to it knocked it down several pegs and is a shadow of it's former self.  Still has good armor for its tier as an AFV.

They claim it was replaced because it was bad.

My counter to that claim is this:

If they were looking at "the stats", and it was recommended as one of the "newbie vehicles", then how much of this was due to new players playing it?  A new player playing it, then yeah, it would have horrible stats.

Mech Infantry animation change is a straight-up nerf.  It now takes an extra 1-2 seconds to deploy your infantry, at least for the 2 Mortar squads in an AS21.  It might be even worse if you're carring an AT squad because it does seem like there's more time between each soldier exiting than there was before, in addition to the extra time for the door to open and then a brief pause that's completely unnecessary before the first soldier exits.

    I've noticed this too.

I would watch for the carrot symbols to come out and once the correct number deployed I moved.  Now I sit there for what seems to be an eternity longer.

Before the animation for the "deployment" button was as long as it took for them to deploy.  Now, not so much.

Yes. Statistically, it was one of the worst performing vehicles in the game. And I am talking OT-64 level of bad - low 40s winrate in PvP and such.

That said, the 2000 is an overall nerf. Much of the Termi's effectiveness came from being able to mow things down with overwhelming autocannon DPM, and now it has considerably lower DPM than the Ramka before even considering the decreased mobility.

To me it feels that this is one of those vehicles that "as equipped" lived in a world where it was good only in a certain enviroment.  In a PvE enviroment, yeah it cleaned up the house due to the DPM and how the bots work, then fell on its face in PvP due to a lack of armor/mobility/etc which play more in line with survival in that mode.

The M1A2C and the XM1A3 imo can not be compared........

Oh, but they can be.  There are people, such as my clan mates that asks certain questions such as how does it scale up and down the line instead of just across to other vehicles in that tier and use this information to gauge if they want to move forward with a certain vehicle.  From there they can get excited that they are getting something they will enjoy, if they have to tough it out and get through a certain period in it, or just forget about it and move on to other things. There are others that do the same thing, hence why the comparison two like I did to help him formulate his own opinion.

The question was asked for recommendations, I provided him my personal opinion.

  10. I don't like name & shame, but sometimes.........

So this morning on Desert Crossing, I was over helping cap the bridge during the first wave.  Sure, no problem but I took my beating and got killed after we capped it and made them pay for them trying to come and get it from us.  No big deal.

The cap points changed, so I changed my respawn point to the middle so I could go help out at 4 (southern point).  I spawn right in front of an K21-XC8 as he is moving and he runs right into the back of me and proceeds to shoot me multiple times (never mind the fact that I'm invulnerable while this is going on) and he goes and pisses off.

Why is it that a certain group of people are so self-destructive in any sort of PvP match?  Why in the #### are these people allowed to get away with the shear amount of stupid crap that they do and now that I've seen one thing now I can't unsee any of it.

Airstrikes on friendlies while they are capturing the point that we have control over in spades.  I just watched a Ramka-99 on the enemy team unload his into the back of a hull down 2A6 before our firing line got shots on him and he decided to piss off.

What the hell is going through their heads?  Too much lead in the water?

  11. My thoughts:

    The TTB:

    • The biggest issue with the TTB is that there is a lot of stuff that is  "overprogression" experience locked.
    • Until you get the upgraded gun you feel like you are playing down a tier to start.  Once you get the upgraded gun it starts to improve and once you finally get the upgraded ammo the gun performance is actually not bad and can hold its own if you don't mind the long reload times and the clip style mechanics.
    • It has average/above average mobility
    • It's armor it pretty good as long as you pay attention to your upper and lower plate angles and what is actually showing.
    • Going down the TTB route kinda locks you into this "dead end" of the tech tree unless something else becomes of the Faraday line unless you really want the M48 GA8 or the MGM-166 (both have high XP requirements to unlock modules).

    The M1A2C:

    • The M1A2C is what I would expect of an Abrams.  Only issue is that occurs at tier 9 with all the others being very underwhelming.
    • It is a night/day difference once fully upgraded over how the M1A2 compares to it's tier.
    • Gun handling is better and only gets better from there but it seems to be more balanced at this point.
    • Mobility is improved.
    • It can take a bit of a better beating than you might have experienced with the M1A2.  The LFP was improved over the years so it doesn't feel so weak anymore.  BUT!  The turret ring is now the glaring weak spot and if you eat damage it will usually come from there.

I would go down the M1A2C so you can unlock the XM1A3.  That thing is a beast of a tank and is actually pretty damn good.  Having the M48 personally it wasn't as much "fun" as I thought it would be.

Disclaimer:  I hated the Abrams line until I got to the XM1A3 then I started to play all the other Abrams.  All the other varients outside of the M1A2C and the XM1A3 can die in a dumpster fire as far as I'm concerned.  I do some PVP and do a lot of PVE in the TTB, and do a lot of both in the XM1A3.

  12. There is a possibility that you might have a bad PSU.

You need to get a voltmeter and verify the voltages on the rails.  Most of the newerish motherboards do have some sort of voltage regulating on them with some sort of protection.

All things considered the price of a PSU is peanuts to the cost of trying to build up a new computer.

Looked a bit different on the screenshots I saw. Surprised there's still that old garage in the client.

    Please don't take it out!

For whatever reason for a while the GPU usage had improved with the old garage so it was no longer using 100%.  it got to be more in line with what it should be.  I would like to say it was Caribbean Crisis when that garage took a toll on the GPU again and I've been running with the simplified garage ever since.  The old hangers after the fix I do like, the new ones even with top of the line hardware look like you were talking about with look like you were talking about with someone that was photoshopped in.

  14. Too bad we can't have the interface back.

Interestingly enough, I've recently seen screenshots of new vehicles in old garage. The developers have asked me not to share them so I won't, but it looks VERY uncanny, as if the vehicle was photoshopped into the garage, I assume due to various post-effects and the difference between texture quality now and then.

For my PC, it doesn't look photoshop, but I can see what you mean by the various post-effects and processes that could come up.  I wonder if that has to do with the PC doing  it?
