Seahawk Legacy

The concept of this Battle Path ties in to what’s going on with Armored Warfare right now. As you can see from the multiple “autumn update” posts, we’re having a bit of a renaissance here. With that come new players and judging from the popularity of the Special Operations mode and the questions being asked, some are definitely interested in Armored Warfare’s lore.

scr2

With this Battle Path, we’re going back to the concept of story-driven events and diaries. The Seahawks Battle Path narrates the Seahawks story which the Black Company Special Operations directly follow, from the very beginning (introducing the world of Armored Warfare) to the events that took place right before the beginning of Rate of Decay.

Now, some of you know the story already – perhaps you have even been playing since 2017 when the tale got told for the first time. Not to worry, we’ve prepared a lot of other things to motivate you to enter this Battle Path than just the story – although it’ll be great to see it come to life with brand-new Diary illustrations instead of just texts. For the first time, the story will also be available in Russian.

Prizes

Speaking of motivating, there will be 50 levels packed full of prizes. As usual, we’ve prepared three brand-new vehicles for you:

  • Cheonma-2 Tier 10 Premium MBT for reaching Level 20
  • VN20 Tier 10 Premium TD for reaching Level 35
  • XK3 Tier 10 Premium MBT for reaching Level 50

These aren’t directly tied to a story but each of them represents a looted Clayburn Industry facility as Andrew Clayburn does like to acquire interesting prototypes for his R&D department. Each of these is a Tier 10 Premium vehicle with a separate, unique gameplay but we’re just getting started. This Battle Path will offer three Premium commanders as well:

  • Joshua Seagrove for reaching Level 11
  • Kathryn Grey for reaching Level 15
  • Fedor Sokolov for reaching Level 17

These commanders have been around for a long time but, for this event, we have decided to give them an overhaul that will be available for the Battle Path’s release (and yes, the overhaul also includes Samuel Thorpe from the previous Battle Path). If you have these commanders already, you will receive Battle Coins instead.

scr3

But that’s still not all. We took a lot of inspiration from the 2017 Storyline Campaign and included a number of other prizes that had appeared in it before. Specifically:

  • Stingray “Black Eagle” Premium LT and all the Black Eagle skins
  • T-72 Victory Premium MBT
  • Sabre Premium AFV

And, of course, there’s the Abrams AGDS Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer that originally appeared as the event’s top prize. The rest of the prizes (camouflages, decals and more) are brand-new or reimagined.

scr4

And last but not least, there will be several Seahawk Loot Crates waiting for you, which include:

  • AbramsX Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
  • EMBT Tier 10 Premium Main Battle Tank
  • Puma Tier 10 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
  • Boxer CRV Tier 9 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle
  • Battle Coin Boosters
  • Platinum Boosters
  • Platinum Loot Crates

If you have one of these vehicles already and it drops for you, you will receive its full price in Gold.

scr5

All that – for the same price as before. Lower in fact, as we reduced the price per Level from 5.000 Battle Coins to 4.500 Battle Coins.

Battle Coin Shop Update

As usual, we’re updating the Battle Coin shop. However, instead of simply adding new things, we are (based on your feedback) lowering the prices across the board. The prices now follow this system:

  • All Tier 10 vehicles now cost 75999 Battle Coins
  • All Tier 9 vehicles now cost 55999 Battle Coins
  • All Tier 8 vehicles now cost 35999 Battle Coins
  • All Tier 7 vehicles now cost 21999 Battle Coins
  • All Tier 6 vehicles now cost 12999 Battle Coins
  • All Tier 5 vehicles and below now cost 5999 Battle Coins
  • Camouflages and base paints now cost 5999 Battle Coins
  • Most skins now cost 19999 Battle Coins (except for the most epic ones which now cost 44999 Battle Coins)

Mission Overhaul

Once again, we are changing the mission requirements but this time, we updated the Elite missions as well. In Seahawks, the mission chains will include:

  • Bulwark vehicles (older German and Soviet machines)
  • Mauler vehicles (cutting edge German machines)
  • Remnant vehicles (Polish machines)

The Elite missions are replaced by Seahawk missions (requiring Seahawk vehicles). In case these faction names are unfamiliar to you, they come from a story that preceded even the Seahawk tale and we’ll refresh your memory (or introduce them again) in the future. For now, the important part is that:

  • Each of the three chains rewards you with Battle Coin boosters and a single Seahawk Loot Crate
  • The Seahawk missions (previously Elite missions) award you with Abrams AGDS (or its full price in Gold if you have it already)

Conclusion

The rest of the Battle Path remains mostly the same. The Battle Path is currently planned to launch in November but, as usual, the specific date will be announced a bit later.

  • According to SS on official Discord server, Seagrove, Grey, and Sokolov's future changes are mostly buffs and not complete overhauls (but subject to change). Thorpe on the other hand will be a complete overhaul. In other words, all four commanders will get some changes in time for this upcoming BP.
  • The story of 2017 Storyline Campaign can be found here.

The Seahawks Battle Path is coming in November and we’d like to take a moment to tell you more about its prizes.

As you know already, the Battle Path will retell the story of the Seahawks, their odyssey across half of the planet and their fate – in other words, what happened before the Rate of Decay and Lone Star Special Operation. The story will be told via fifty diary entries (one per Battle Path level as usual) and the prizes of each level will be tied to their respective entries as in the previous story-driven Battle Paths.

The main prizes are, of course, the vehicles. There are three:

You can see them on the images below:

tank3

The VN20 will have, as announced earlier, a unique ability to deploy a turret targeting nearby enemies:

But that’s not all. You’ll have the opportunity to also win the following items:

  • Abrams AGDS Tier 9 Premium TD (or its full price in Gold)
  • T-72 Victory Tier 5 Premium MBT
  • Sabre Tier 6 Premium AFV
  • Stingray 2 Black Eagle Tier 7 Premium LT
  • Three recently upgraded commanders (Joshua Seagrove, Kathryn Grey and Fyodor Sokolov – we’ll tell you more about later
  • Rest of Black Eagle skins (including the one for Object 640)

But what you’re here for are the new skins and camouflages, right? Let’s take a look at them.

The most interesting is the M1A3 Aces skin for the XM1A3 (which is getting a major buff and will be quite a powerhouse).

aces1

In the world of Armored Warfare, the M1A3 is the ultimate version of the Abrams. Four vehicles from the initial production run were all undergoing trials in the desert when the order to return to the USA came and they were left behind along with most of the other equipment used by the U.S. forces.

aces2

The prototypes were soon after seized by scavengers and sold to the highest bidder within days due to the concern that Uncle Sam might be coming for his lost toys. The highest bidder turned out to be none other than Clayburn Industries with Andrew Clayburn allegedly taking personal interest in acquiring these feasome machines. One of these Abrams tanks, “Aces”, became the personal vehicle of Kathryn Grey who used it to great effect in Clayburn Industries service.

aces3

The skin covers the XM1A3 with a camouflage kit similar to that of another skin, War Pig, although the XM1A3 one is somewhat different. It unlocks the hard-kill APS as well as the upgraded ERA kit on the vehicle and it can change colors as well based on the base paint you use.

aces5

The Avenger skin for M1128 Stryker is based on Joshua Seagrove’s personal Stryker.

avenger1

Like the Aces skin, the Avenger too unlocks the top armor configuration (in this case the ERA one) and allows you to change its color based on the selected base paint.

avenger2

avenger3

The Deathstalker skin is based on a real-life Sheridan that was used during Operation Desert Storm (3rd Battalion, 73rd Armor Regiment). After its decommissioning, it was sold off to a private collector by the name of Jacques Littlefield, whose collection became one of the most famous in the world and perhaps the largest in the USA.

deathstalker 1

Mr. Littlefield unfortunately passed away in 2009 and his collection was partially auctioned off in 2014 to finance the creation of a new museum that would house the rest. And that’s where the real-life Deathstalker resides today – the American Heritage Museum in Hudson, Massachusetts.

deathstalker2

And, last but not least, there’s the Sentinel skin for AMX-30 BRENUS. Its appearance is based on a real-life French “opposing force” (FORAD) vehicle. After their retirement, the obsolete AMX-30 tanks served simulated enemy vehicles at CENZUB, a special French military facility near Sissonne for training urban combat.

sentinel

The unique camouflage it’s covered in is specific to this service and consists of three shades of grey and black rectangles. It likely first appeared around 2010. The vehicle bears the name “Sentinel” and, in the world of Armored Warfare, it was sold off and used by mercenaries in Africa.

We naturally have other prizes for you that are all tied to the story, such as the epic camouflages:

And, of course, there will be plenty of avatars, flags and decals waiting for you as well:

These are just examples and there will be many more prizes in this Battle Path. We hope that you’ll enjoy this event that is coming soon and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!
