I agree this is a generous game. My comment is that it is obvious AW did this to familiarize more players with the "crate system" of marketing.  What they did had the opposite effect for many, myself included.

If a tier 9 tank was too much to expect for 35 days then they should have offered a lesser prize, commensurate with the effort.  However, that tank should have been provided to everyone who completed the event, even if they had to open all the crates to get it.  That would have familiarized everyone with the "crate system" and provided a far more positive experience to all players.

As it stands AW made it clear that every one had a "good chance" of winning the tier 9.  It is obvious, from the proliferation of complaints, that there was never a "good chance."  The "good chance" actually being offered will be a chance to spend good money on uncertain loot crates to finish the prize.  This carries a sting of disingenuousness.

I feel this does more harm than good to a game that I greatly appreciate.

Well, another great move AW.  A free Roman-themed Aquila skin for the ZTQ-15, the tank us crate losers didn't get.  Nothing like re-opening wounds.

I think AW made a mistake.  I know they want to push the "crate" method of selling, but from what I can see this backfired with a lot of players.  They should have given the prize to everyone who participated for the full 35 days.

For me, all this did was reinforce my dislike for these "crates."  No doubt more "crates" will soon be available for purchase so the losers can finish the prize.  AW should sell, or not sell, in a more straight forward fashion.

It seems to me the nerf to the ATDU might have been offset with something.  Maybe a slight increase in rate of fire.  It leaves me not wanting to play the thing.  Luckily, there are plenty of other tanks.

That's what it looked like to me.  As I see it, the AFVs have been nerfed in a very real sense.  On top of nerfed AP rounds it seems AFVs have to deal with nerfed view range.  This is absolute lunacy.

In the past, I have given this game real world money.  That will certainly come to a stop!

Am I correct?  Did they also nerf the AP rounds on AFVs?

For me this is the last straw.

Maybe I better just quit playing for a while?

Why is it necessary to make all these changes at once?  What's wrong with an incremental approach?  No doubt, the long term goal of the developers is to increase the player base.  I, for one, have a difficult time perceiving that outcome in all these changes.

Is it possible there has simply been a conscious decision to abandon the American or possibly the entire Western market?  I understand most of the players are Russians.  

All of this seems to be removing my incentive to spend any more time on this game until I see the final public version.

I guess a rational response response, to all of this, might be to continue enjoying the game, but don't purchase anything until the dust settles.

I don't get it.  They are going to nerf AP rounds in MBTs.  To offset this nerf they are going to buff the effectiveness of ERA.  Ok, what about the MBTs that don't have any or much ERA?  Do they just get nerfed?

Or, what about the MBTs that are designed to snipe such as the Sabra 2?

Am I missing something?

In Update 0.33 battle hardened tanks will receive preferential matchmaking.  In essence, you pay gold to get better matches.  I am concerned about this.  It sounds a bit like pay-to-win, one of the big reasons I left WOT.

The PELE rounds seem to be favored.  But, at 70 they only do 5 more damage than the AP at 65.
However the AP have almost double the penetration, at 240 compared to 125 for the PELE.  Are the PELE really that much better?

di_duncan, thanks for the perspective and your previous thoughtful input.  I will try your suggestions.  I think I just had a bad match and vented in light of the change.

Update 0.32.7122 made the following change:
"AI opponents now target unmanned turrets less often"
This, in effect, nerfed the Challenger 1 Falcon in PVE.
Whatever you do, don't buy one.  They are no longer fun to play.

I am looking at the Challenger 1 Falcon.  I appears that some time between one and two years ago the auto loader was added and alpha damage reduced.  Has anyone played it?  What do you think of it?
