Why did they bother changing it on Panama/Grindelwald..

I haven't seen those in about... 80 games? I was beginning to believe I just imagined them, like the fading fleeting remnants of a pleasant dream, upon waking.

you might as well adjust the MM of arty in glops. :classic_rolleyes:

    But seriously, Good, good, good.

Nothing more frustrating than one team being given the ability to bomb the other back to the stone age, and it's usually the team that's already winning that gets it too.

Actually just change it to 1 nuke that air-bursts over Narrows, and the radiation makes it uninhabitable for about, I dunno... 10,000 years? :christmass_wub:I'd pay IRL money for that.

now 10 losses in a row* - I'm definitely not best player in the world, but I know when i'm being fucked in the arse.

And it's ALL via the MM being unable to adequately balance matches, within some reasonable expectation of fairness.
I will not participate in that .. "rigging". And if the people fucking-over the rest of us, via voice-commed platoons don't like it .. well sorry, i have no sympathy for that kind of exploiter-scum.

*the odds of which are, by the way 1: 1024, and also ironically, Premium Tank advantage to all the winning teams, to be somewhat on-topic

maybe other people have some sort of 'magic account' that the matchmaker likes. I don't.

This afternoon i keep getting frigging Alarm platoons on the opposite side.

It makes playing: Pointless. No fun. A shitty gaming experience. If i see them again, I'm just quitting the match. I refuse to enable what is effectively seal-clubbing by being a part of it.

AW should fix this shit, before people find other games to play.

Prem MM is not a thing anymore. I think the last vehicle which had it was the Obj 279. There might be some rare low tier prems which still have it but iirc it was removed completely because it disturbs MM.

Thanks TK, Not on the wiki any more, because i just deleted it-. :-)

     ... lots ...

thanks for the very in-depth reply :-) Lots to think about.

Even though +Prems do correllate somehow with an additional chance of winnning(IMHO), I know that's not the same as saying they are the sole direct cause of the extra wins, far from it. There's so much noise in the signal in any particular match, there's no way it 100% determines who wins. Especially now, as loads of people are getting the battle path prems, useless players buying Strelas because they think it's an automatic "I win" button, and so on. And in 10v10 matches +1 Prem is more of the team than +1 in a 15v15.

Also in Glops, winning depends a lot on knowing what you are doing,  and when, and just having a massive damage output tank, (like the Strela) and relentlessly coming top of the scores because of damage, doesn't mean much, if no one bothers to cap after you've killed everyone, & you end up losing.

Can I get a reference for this claim? I seriously doubt premium vehicles have preferential matchmaking, especially considering how [relatively] small the current playerbase is

    -----------------------------

    Anyway back on topic:
I definitely think some Prem tanks ARE OP at the moment (cattb, strela), and if they can be OP in the hands of a normal guy, they are doubly OP with those [A1arM] guys
... is the win caused by the CATTB? Is it Player skill? Is it platooning, is it voice-coms, is it being tier10 tanks in a t9 game. - I'd say All of the above multiplied together.

and I'm sure you know, but i noticed people from [совет]* are also ridiculously good, i just hope they end up on my side

"early release" vehicles that are straight-up OPAF ...

Good points, and definitely would have affected the results.
There was probably a lot of other stuff too: good players platooning with voice coms, platoons in general, people getting a rental and trying it out, wallet warriors who'd never been above T4 before, everyone and his brother-in-law grinding Seon-gun's...

The matches were anything from this:
    Total Prems everywhere chaos

    loads-of-prems.png.e82f4213a9e4b3c8f6deda543bc5e697.png

    To this:
1 platoon of good players all with OP tanks (and Ophelia, FYI) and maybe voice too,  while the blue team had nothing

    plats.png.3f15150d27ce24ed7ffacfb3f7d26ef8.png

    I suspect ...
most of the differences in the first chart was a mix of:
    genuinely OP pre-nerf tanks,
and Good players, platooning who would have won in any tank probably, but just had prems anyway, for the credits

  7. I was wondering: are premium vehicles "pay to win"?
Or maybe just "Do You win More in a Prem than a normal Tank"

All this is in glops, although it might reasonably apply to the other modes
It's all just FYI, make whatever conclusions you want

Place your bets on the results now, my furry friends, and I'll continue...

How could I find this out?
Obviously if you have a Prem, you will have an increased chance of coming higher-up the scoring list, because Premiums have a better chance of being top tier.
Apparently Prems are supposed to be: just normal tanks that earn you more credits.
But ... if the MM balances the Premiums, you will have just as much chance of coming top of a losing team, as of a winning team. So that would be no advantage, in terms of winrate.
Well I thought I could see if having more Prems in your team gave you a better chance of winning.

So I looked through all the games I could find in my folder, and screen-shotted the team-results-screens.
And made a chart of the results of what happens, if your team has more Premiums than the other team.

... And remember that Prems are supposed to get no special winning advantages apart from extra Credit/xp earnings.

Here's the result. Out of 134 games. (i think)
The middle (grey) column is if the Prems are the same on both sides 2 vs. 2 for example, so these are irrelevant.
The scores along the bottom, are if you have more prems than the other side. +1, +2 +3 etc.
The Left side, is if you have more Prems than the other team, and LOSE.
The Right side, is if you have more Prems than the other team and WIN.
I have coloured the columns so you can compare the same +1 with +1 etc. win vs. lose

    prems2.png.2baa79bbde0bf75eb0c60a94742d67b0.png

    Notes.
    I didn't take any account of Tier, whatever tank it is, who's in a platoon, who's not, who's a Strela+Ophelia stat-padder*,
who's in a top-shelf Batallion in a platoon over Skype, whatever. There wasn't much at tier 10,
because there aren't really many T9-10 premiums,
also you can't reliably get a Glops game at T5-6, so the results are mostly T7, 8, 9.
And I don't promise this has any statistical rigour or validity of any kind, or even that I didnt just cock the whole thing up, in some way.

*You should be ashamed of yourself: try that in a Sprut, you talentless seal-clubber.

Any word on PELE? I saw, and shot at, my first Hunter yesterday with a Rosomak + Pele.

I think I was damaging it, or my shots were sometimes doing normal damage, sometimes nothing but with the new vehicle damage icons it's difficult to tell, and I'm not sure the damage indicator is displaying all the damage I do, or I just didn't see the indication...

  9. The solution to many, or most of the problems with OP tanks, is simply DELETE OPHELIA.
If a vehicle is OP, there is nothing that makes it OPer than pairing it with a commander, whose main skill is also grossly, ridiculously OP.

Actually I have an easy fix for this problem:
Every game you play with Ophelia... doesn't count.

That is to say: every win gets you Zero credits, and every game you win or lose using Ophelia does not count toward your "stats".
Because then, everyone who actually just liked playing with Ophelia could do so, and everyone who who plays with Ophelia because they are talentless, stat-exploit vermin, would get nothing out of it.
Obviously, if they had actual talent or skill, it wouldn't matter, and could could easily get the same effect from Sabrina, or Ioannis or whatever.

  10. Swingfire Redux

I had a test on Alabino, and then a Glops game in it.

Both the main problems with it, caused by devs' ruinous attempts to balance it, have been... sort of... half-fixed.

    1. The dismal speed is manageable, because it has the Speed Boost ability now.

    2. The minimum shooting distance is... well it seems to be slightly less than it was, and even though you are utterly defenceless under about 5 tank-lengths, I think I can cope with that. Not great, but better than before.

On the bright side, the missiles still hit like Thor the Thunder god, stamping on your enemy with an armoured boot. The view range is excellent ,  And if you are really good, you can "banana" shots around things, but don't tell anyone. :dwi2:

I did actually think: OK, if there's a minimum attack distance, maybe if I turn backwards, and fire the wrong way, the missile will shoot out of the minimum attack distance, turn round and come back. But I couldn't get it to work, so don't bother.

Ahhh Swingy my first love  :wubseal:

You may not be that fast, or that pretty, but baby, you can still suck a golf ball through a garden hose

To my understanding, the devs do something similiar when they have to go through all this data to figure out how to fix something...

It might be that the devs only need to 'fix' something when it becomes a problem of numbers. For example if every T7 Glops game turns into massed Pindad-only teams, rocket-splurging each other. If it's just a couple of high-skill geniuses that can wreck everyone using a Sprut(good luck with that), then it's not worth thinking about.

  12. I have this setup, specifically for the Chally I

    phil-chally.png.fa97f4e869d2e478852c55bacc30d951.png

    http://csb-hype.5v.pl/?holzklau=A6B4B6C3C5C6D5D6E1E3F1F2F3

    Retros:
    Improved gun breech v2 - Rof +13%
Improved Pioneer toolkit v2 - Repair Speed +35%
    Improved Filter Systems v2 - Acc. +15%, engine HP + 50%

    Crew skills:
Driver: off road driving (+ acc), spin 2 win (+ hull traverse)
Gunner: do the twist (+ turret traverse), sharpshooter (-5% Max spread)
Loader: Explosive shells (+ module dam), vehicle expertise (+ repair speed)

    Because:
The default Chally is painfully slow, so slow I want to rip my hair out, hence the speed/acc boosts,
Boosts to turret and hull rotation so they can't get behind you.
Since (in glops for example) no one can do anything to you from the front ... at all, they end up tracking you, every single time. You will be tracked, you use a repair kit, they will immediately track you again, and then you will spend half of every game sitting there, waiting for the repair timer.
So for this I have all the increased repair speed boosts/ increased track HP.

  13. The swingfire

Back in the distant Stone, or rather Obsidian-Age, when Swingy was tier 4 I think, I absolutely loved it. And I played it all in PvP, when I still bothered with pvp.
I loved it so much, it was the first tank I paid actual IRL money, to buy some camouflage for.

Then they shoved it up a couple of tiers, made it handle like shit, and generally made it into a really good way of losing and dragging your team down with you. Because anyone could just drive up to you, and the minimum missile range meant you were dead, because you had NO Weapons, no armour, and couldn't even run, because it was so slow, and unmaneuverable. In other words, they completely ruined it. :brokenseal2k:
And I haven't played it since

Now you've intrigued me, I might have to try it out again...

    • always hide as much of your tank as possible behind rocks, machinery, dead tanks, and living teammates
    • stand 1 tank-length behind a bush, rather than in, it when shooting
    • Always let one of your team-mates go around a corner first
    • Never go round a corner until your gun is loaded
    • Never go anywhere on your own, you can't hold a flank on your own against 4 enemies

GLOPS is inherently imbalanced, has core gameplay flaws and not very popular. Development for GLOPS is effectively finished, don't expect big changes.

It's not inherently imbalanced, unless the MM packs one side with retards, and one with the only 3-man Platoon of Scum-strela-ophelia exploiters.

Who's fault is it if that happens? I think it's the devs isn't it.

Next, compare Glops, where you have a chance of making a comeback, to pvp where the snowball/Lanchester's Laws effect, means every match is finished once one team gets 2 vehicles ahead. Now which one of those is inherently imbalanced, idiots.

Also, recently I played 60 Games in a rosomak, 30 on my main acc. And 30 on a dump account from years ago. As an experiment.

Can you guess how many of those 60 were on the good maps: Barren Divide/Waterway/Grindelwald/Desert Crossing, PUT TOGETHER?

NOT A SINGLE FUCKING ONE.   ZERO.

If Glops is "unpopular", maybe it has something to do with  never getting the good maps, and 2/5 of them being on useless, crappy Narrows.

Whose fault is it that this happens? I THINK IT'S THE DEVS.... or maybe I secretly hacked the code repository and slept-coded something and fucked up the Glops rotation to make it as boring as possible?

Oh no, wait it was the devs wasn't it.

    For fucks sake.

  17. If you need approx 50 crates for the Hunter, that's 5x12,500 = 62,500 coins, I think, if you buy them 10 at a time.

One of those challenges is 350, so that's about 178 of them.

How fast are you guys completing these challenges approximately? Are they all stacking up so you can do 6 at once? I guess my real question is: does it look like you are on-track for getting enough?

Dumb question/observation, since I haven't memorised the previous state of PvE:

Today, I had a swingfire fire at me, I blew smoke, missile continues on its non-linear flightpath and hits me.

I mentioned the non-linear thing, because there would be an excuse if the missile was on a straight flight path , and I smoked, and then didn't move, and it continued without guidance and hit me anyway.

This bullshit is "a thing", yes?

  19. I am sure smoke is at least somewhat unfixed.

Earlier this evening it felt like people were still right-clicked locked-on and shooting me, and also the yellow AI vehicles on Barren Divide seemed to completely ignore me smoking them.

At least my deployed infantry seems not to mysteriously vanish for the 2nd half of the match, never to return.
