----

Random bits and bobs from the stream:

  • SS is not a fan of T-15 in general due to its size. He's not fond of Kinzhal's triple shot burst either.
  • Draco is OP and SS will ask devs to nerf it.
  • SS enjoys seeing the camouflage and skins that players use on their vehicles, especially if they are the ones he personally proposed.
  • No plans to introducing more rules to PVP matchmaking at the moment due to PVP queue; "it's more important to get into a match than to have a balanced match".
  • The idea of new progression vehicles is still being brought up to the devs from time to time, but there are still no plans for them at the moment.
  • SS personally wants to complete the T-80 line, with T-80U-M1Bars on T8, T-80BVM on T9, and Object 292 on T10.
  • Puma IFV may be coming at some point.
  • SS was surprised that there is a decal written in Russian that translates to "Screw everybody; I park where I want"
  • In-game store is being worked on.
  • Regarding Labyrinth, the win rate and popularity dropped over time, and it eventually became a mode where many players found it difficult and only a small percentage of players enjoyed or could take advantage of it. It's been taken down for re-evaluation and may be readjusted in the future.
  • SS also wants to see more PVE maps, and he has designed/proposed two missions for devs to consider at the moment.
  • Fixing Cerberus' lieutenant spawn problem is still in the backlog.
  • Other non-Spec Ops War Games have been shelved; they were dropped in favour for Spec Ops development back then. The devs did not want to create more gameplay modes that would only cater to a small percentage of players.
  • That said, the latest Spec Ops did not go as well as the devs had hoped, so there will be no new Spec Ops missions in the near future.
  • SS will ask the devs how to bring Plague back for players who want to replay the mission.
  • The Storyline Campaign, which came to an abrupt end last month, will return in the form of portal events (aka Perhelion event). SS will continue to write the story. No more signups - just hop in, play, and get prizes, should one wants to, or just watch how the story unfolds. As this will potentially become official lore for all clients, some elements of the story will be adjusted so they can be "compatible" with other regions as well. There will be no trackers at the moment, but they hope to have in-game tracker eventually. If it goes well, then the story will become the official story for Armored Warfare, including future Spec Ops, PvE missions, and other events.
  • Players who have participated in the Storyline Campaign will get a bonus for the upcoming event.
  • Upvote 5

Would disagree here! Nothing sucks, any and all motivation to play out of you than getting into 6v6, 8v8 or 10v10 PvP / GlOps match with a 3-man platoon on one side.
With the recent BP, I see more and more instances of players just abandoning those games shortly after they start, making a miserable experience for the ones left behind even more certain.

What the hell did they expect here? Your mission is bad, you should feel bad.
If you don't have the resources and budget for it currently, don't do low effort stuff. Improve your existing content in a meaningful way, fix stuff. We all know AW badly needs it.
Should new stuff absolutely be done, go for the smaller fries and add good (!) operations to the PvE pool and improve / add new PvP maps long term.
Re-introduce old cut content, to give new players and old ones, who missed it, another shot.

How is this event connected to the Storyline Campaign?

This event replaces the Storyline Campaign and will use some of the same prizes. Players who already have those from the Storyline Campaign will receive Gold compensation as per the mission’s description.”

Is that it?

You know how well AW is with PVP modes. And SS statement regarding that just made me laugh once again. The game is in a situation regarding PVP modes where they can only lose no matter what they do. Either make people wait a shitload of time to get good matches, which drives people away because they understandably don't want to wait 2min for a match. Or you just don't give a fuck about balance and just smash some stuff together to get a team, which drives people away because of a shit experience. Anything related to the term "balance" was thrown out of the window quite some time ago, so it's hard to not have a shit experience in PVP anyways.

Looks like the general direction of the game in the last months totally fits the playerbase then :snrk:

Nice, I completely missed the stream, thanks.

Anyway, who would have guessed that breaking the balance that badly and not even testing anynthing would have negative effects on the game? HUH

About the Apocalypse missions, my biggest problem with it, is the episodic release, it was such a TERRIBLE idea. I played chap 1 and 2 so many times, I barely played chap 3 and 4 because I was so tired of replaying the earlier missions yet another time.

I never liked labyrinth (auto pen high DPM/burst vehicle is retarded), due to the straight up lying gamemode description, but it was still kinda fun (and came in handy for doing some missions as said above) to ammorack or crew kill a MBT for 6K damage. It was a bit different than the rest of the game, even though it was sill a "sit in a circle to win" objective.

The reason the latest SpecOps didn't go well is because they tacked it onto the end of Apocalypse, meaning that you have to play 3 missions you've already played 100 times in order to get to it.  They screwed up badly when they made each Apocalypse SpecOps essentially stand-alone from an achievement point of view, but continued to link them together and force people to play all of them in order to get the achievements.

They all should have been done like Plague was initially - stand alone - and then after all 4 were released, and the 4th mission was given sufficient time as a stand alone mission, then they could have introduce a separate set of achievements that you could earn by playing the full set together.

No one wants to play Plague 75 times in each class of vehicles just to get all of the achievements for each mission.  That's just stupid.  (Note that Plague was retconned to 15 times per vehicles class somewhere along the way.  It was 20 times per vehicle class at launch.)
