If you ask me, the damage boost pales in comparison to the spawn changes that made it a lot harder to deal with reds before they finished you.

Huh.  I never played it.  Was it a special map, or did it just re-use something that already exists?

Reuse of the Moscow PvP map, with some visual effects to make it look like it was a virtual simulation in the world of AW. Notably, the hostile vehicle skins glowed, but that was removed some time back.

They toke it down now? After it was up like 5 times in this most recent state?

It has gone downhill since its implementation, balance wise.

  • Removal of fuel tank modules -> One less source of fire
  • Pish/Hesh nerf -> harder to set off the ammo rack
  • Pele nerf -> harder to set off the ammo rack
  • Ammo rack damage nerf -> Reds now 100% survive a cook off
  • ATGM fire rate nerf -> harder to set off the ammo rack
  • HP rebalance -> Reds survive a set of ammo rack and on fire engine
  • Introduction of ATGM capable bots -> Reds get their pen/damage increased by a fuck ton already, ergo ATGM spam on steroids
  • Introduction of power-creeped vehicles into the spawn pool (twin fire ATGMs and good ACs with bot accuracy and no aim time!)
  • Removal of dynamic spawns -> Bots can once again spawn right on top of you (literally!)
  • low tier rebalance made greens tank the whole loadout of some low ammo capacity vehicles (without ammo racks or engine fires) and made reds stronger once more
  • AI “improvements” -> Lieutenants, superior AI got more aggressive (bull charging the player) and follows them longer
  • AI pathing change on Labyrinth -> They advance towards the repair area instead of map center now

The only upside was, that people that actually knew how to play the mode, which did not change since day 1 (outspott and only go for ammo racks and engine fires with stealthy high DPM/Burst vehicles), could do both weekend chests in about 10 min.
Also, some  crate missions are way easier in this mode if you don't have a full premade platoon on your friend list to just let you do them easily.

  • Win and destroy 20 enemies with every shot penetrating
  • Kill 5 bots by ammo rack explosion or fire, within the same match
  • Farm 20k damage, fire at least 20 shots, with 100% accuracy and penetration with every shot, within the same match
  • Farm 30 kills or assists combined
  • Win 5 matches in a row, without you or your platoon getting destroyed

Recent changes to autocannons ("balance") multiplied issues with red critters, which before were elevated by adding aggressive suicidal waives of Hunters, sphinxes  bots etc. ATGM bots firing barrage of rockets with no delays. Officer bots with visual range normal nullify all player camo tactics. Spawning bots which immediately shot at player. How enjoyable.
